A Passing Breeze

The leaves they laughed, the tree then spoke,

Stories of autumn and poems of fall,

I cried that day as though I'd never before.

Copper made your shade such a wintry white,

We lay together, more alone than night,

And then, as the wind danced between blades so long,

I heard your spirit rustle, and you were gone.
