Through my eyes

Snow is on the ground
As the wind is swirling around
Inches keep coming this way
Low temperatures will make it stay

The storm of the year
As another storm comes near
Finally tonight this will stop
Covering every house, tree and crop

Roads are impossible to cross
Every company will be forced to take a loss
I'm off again for the weekend
With only emotions and ideas to defend

My deck has became a snow wall
Which also covers the wooden fence that stands tall
The car looks like a igloo
Many are indoors not knowing what to do

Owners are going nuts
Trying to open while not avoiding injuries, bruises and cuts
Safety first and that is the bottom line
Life and death can clearly define

The sky is cloudy and grey
Sunshine slowly will be on it's way
Driveways are buried
Results of digging out are often mixed and varied

A potential record has fallen this week
Yet many had other plans to seek
The super bowl is tomorrow
By the way I don't need a TV to borrow

i liked this last line especially. with snow life stops - and you did reflect stillness which comes along with whiteness on the streets. when you are "snowed in" - you are left on your own with the self. to avoit it - luckily, there's a tv. rhyme and humuor makes this poem easier to digest. thanks for sharing
