Winter's Heart

My love so surreal, severe and lyrical
A sight to behead and the prettiest days
The hate and love, how they intertwine
Children at play, singing nursery rhymes
Halcyon speckles, your atmospheric hair
Sunlight shines through, your most clever snare
To catch my eyes and distract me from the littlest
Tiniest of terrible tricks, the sincerest sinistry
Slithering as the snake, your frozen tendrils invade me
Take hold and make cold what was so warm and dreamy
A snow scape of you now resides within me
Still, the embers of essence live just in reach, secretly
Though savannah heat once surrounded my mind
It’s true ice princess, I love you, as death does sleep
So may you melt with the seasons, and I’ll hold you this time.
