Night Figures

You think they're beautiful don't you?
The shadows that will cascade the walls tonight
It's dark and they look intriguing at first
They look like everything you could ever want
But the lies that they will tell you are blasphemous

Attention, Love, Acceptance is that what you see?
Do they show you the life you dream of?
But how they lie, how they will trick and deceive you.
They showed you one thing but delivered to you another.
They presented to you a box topped with a bow made of gold
And out of it came hate, fear, and loss of everything.

The things you had seen before disappeared in an instant.
And the life they had showed you dissolved,
in it's place was a palate of crimson, a figure named Ana, and a pool of never-ending pain.
Screaming, Crying, Pounding, Drowning

They're still with me those shadows I saw that night
The box with the bow is not, nor are the things they promised.
The figures I saw,Simply an illusion so they could get me.
They have gotten me and they're killing me.

I thought they were beautiful, the shadows that cascaded my walls all those years ago.
They were dark and I found them intriguing, I thought they were everything I ever wanted.
But the things that they brought me are beyond terrifying.
