Mummy-Infants of Formaldehyde

To die young, undeterred by calamity.
to sleep free, undefered by humanity.

To leave earth without hesitant pride,
No biases present to put aside.

A father watches as his infant sleeps
he prays to god, ” leave him for us to keep."

A pile stands four feet from the floor,
Dead children spread from door to door.

Preserved in glass, both untrue and tried,
Mummy infants of formaldehyde.

”your cries of this world have gone unheard,
You'll be revived before my final words.”

The child's heartbeat then slows to a Stop,
But the family belief will not be dropped.

He picks up another large glass jar,
And runs his fingers over his neck's scar.

It won't be long now before the flood,
The spell runs on a father's blood.

But once too many leaves it's mark on the earth.
The cemetery where he'll sleep in dirt.

Just once he wants to see what it's like
To play god and bring a creature to life.

Preserved in glass, both untrue and tried,
Mummy infants of formaldehyde.

His wife's losing her mentality.
They're losing faith in their deity.

They turn their prayers to whoever is left,
Then hear a whisper from the devils breath:

” give me your children, I need all but one,
feed me their souls and you'll have your son.”

He Presses down the blade and feels the swell,
his children will be risen, if not god then by Hell.

He draws the red lines with his hands,
A resurrecting pentagram.

The father looks to his wife's blurred eyes,
searching for answers, she only cries.

so now he'll take it upon himself,
to send his stillborn straight to hell.

Preserved in glass, both untrue and tried,
Mummy infants of formaldehyde.

All but one, and the others bleed,
Just one son, that's all that I need.

He closes his eyes to walk this path,
He takes a step then hears the devil's laugh,

” you'll have your son, just in the likeness of me.
Perhaps an infant, but of demon breed,

You greedy fool, you have yourself to blame.
You've dammed these souls, and all in my name.”

His son's skin boils a dark red,
Its teeth sink into its fathers head.

his last thoughts were of how he died,
His Mummy infants of formaldehyde.
