The thing about rivers

The piercing screams are still heard
in my silence
with my eyes squinted
streaming tears
as a river runs
down from somewhere
long across the depths
of forests
where no one can see or hear
the pains of someone lost
and shattered
Dumped into the unknown
There's something so sad
about a head tilted to the sky
followed with clenched teeth
and pressed moistened lips
A snotty nose
and throbbing chest
forgetting all the good
and innocence
that used to hold me together
The fight to stay is as harsh
as stampeding currents
breaking upon rocks
dragging everything into the frigid
deepness of roaring waters
To watch it in its full effect
can be frightening
To ride it daily
and never want different
is purely insane
and I still dont understand
why you cannot see it
in my eyes
