Fade Back

I wrote this to show how much some Love is like a Drug and Drugs are like Some Love... It is about both a person and a drug.

I never knew what I was doing,
I just dove in and swam to You.
I looked at You and I saw something,
I looked at You and saw abuse.
I held You in my arms for eons,
I hold You still in my Dreams sometimes.
You were Light, though You brought Darkness,
You were my bitter-sweet peace of mind.
But it fades... Like You do.
it fades right back to Blue.
It's strange...how I love You
Cause when it fades I see the truth.
I never knew what I was doing,
I ran to You as an escape,
I never knew what I was doing,
and so my sense of self was raped.
You built me up, You sent me crashing,
Always right back to the ground.
But I would always hold You still,
Though time after time You broke me down.
And it'd fade, fade like You do,
Fade into the distance, back to Blue.
And I fade, fade with You,
Fade from everything I thought I knew.
I should have known what I was doing,
I couldn't see what it had become.
I should have known where this was going,
When everything in me said to run.
I was so in Love with a feeling,
I was so in Love with two.
When you would raise me up to Heaven,
And when You'd bring me down, How I'd want You.
But it fades, like You do,
And I'm left here empty.
You fade, fade out of view,
You fade so far from me.
I never knew what I was doing,
I should have dove in and drifted away.
Now I look at You and see nothing,
But I look inside and I go astray.
I fall apart and start shaking,
I close my eyes, that itch I fight.
I recall how it feels to hold You,
You made chaos in my world feel alright.
And I fade into You,
Waste away like we both wanted to.
When it fades, we'll be blue,
But we will find those better waves
we wanted to drift to.
I'll fade back to Me.
You'll fade back to You.
