The sex book

When I was 8, I found this book in my parents room.
It was filled with sex positions and erotic poses.
I was so confused but low key turned on.
My mom walked in and yelled at me.
She smacked me in the face. I can still feel the sting at 21.
She snatched that book so hard from my hands.
I can still remember the embarrassed look in her eyes.
She tried to overshadow her embarrassment through anger.
Anger that was not real.
I could see that she really wanted to crawl under a rock.
Jeez mom. You really needed a better hiding place.
Why can't parents be open with their children about sex?
Its a beautiful part of life. Isn't it?
Obviously she was trying to spice things up with my dad. Eww.
Her reaction confused me for many years.
Teaching young girls about respecting their bodies is essential.
It's ok to be open with your kid so that they aren't wondering off and being curious to the wrong people.
Especially to their slutty friends who weren't really their friends.
I wish she would have walked in that day and explained everything to that 8 year old girl.
It would have saved me from alot of sorrow.
