DRESSING TO DATE

She prinks and perfumes for the date,
To please, impress and rouse her mate.
She dresses up to good effect,
To make her man stand proud, erect.

There is enough bare skin on show,
Where his hands, wandering, can go,
With subtle promise he will see
Much more of her nocturnally.

She's the star in their production,
Tale of unashamed seduction,
For which both practiced and prepared.
They go on stage, to table shared.

Turns are taken on the dance floor.
Any beholders they ignore;
They're performing for each other,
The Beloved and The Lover.

At the end they walk out of view,
More closely bound in spirit true,
Hands a little more tightly held,
Unto the place where bodies meld.
