Darkness is Home

I peer into the darkness
But I don't find fear.
It turns out there's more to fear
When you come out into the light.

I find comfort in the darkness
And displeasure in the light.
The darkness conceals my thoughts
While the light puts them on display.

The darkness plays well with my demons
While the light makes them cower.
My home is in the dark
Where I'm forever alone.
