Imagined activity

I sometimes imagine that
inanimate objects have life.
That little jerk
at the end of the driveway,
always spittin' out bad news.
That big mouth in the kitchen,
keeps burning up my food.
The hammer tearing down a wall
sharing a kiss with a brick
that was tired of being fixed.
That tree that fell
relieved to be off of it's feet.
A moment of rest,finally free.

I sometimes see people,like this.
No action or taken risks
just a stump...takin' lumps.
God knows,I've been there
That's OK.
My imagination,will give you
activity.
Not selfishly...
I just want more
for your life than indifference,
and complacency.
