Hope travels quite faster than light,
But God, does it burn, without the littlest warning.
Snakes eat eggs but we don't punish them for their sins.
We kill them because they gross us out.
We eat eggs because we're bigger than them,
and that means that we are in charge of what survives.
People who eat people have no worth to the public
Yet people who claim to have seen God are raised up like messiahs
Hunt and eat and repeat the process,
the games we play with nature will prove there's always a consequence.
