Senator Sanders, The $15 Dollar an Hour Wage panders to the News Media, other Senators, and Representatives. It gives them sound-bytes, an easy number to fight for or against.

The Living Wage issue needs to be settled for all time by establishing a Federal Metric for purchasing power that includes needful things like Lodging, Commuting, Food, Services that allow for minimum wage workers to use this as a spring board, and other need full things.

What also needs to be considered is if it should be a Family Wage where a Single worker could possibly support a family of four after the exemptions and deductions, or if it should be a living wage for a single person (that is NOT a Waiver-able Teenager over 16 enrolled in High School in shop class, Not a Trainee under 20 in the first 90 Days)
.
Once These Value Metric Decisions are Made, then each jurisdiction would be beholden to determine what the living wage was for that area.

If these Local Living/Family Wages were revised yearly, to adjust for cost of living increases, the Recurring nightmare of "This City Got that so I want it" or "I will not pay that much for Teenagers" or any of the throw away comments that have clogged social media.
