I LOVE HER... I DO
I served my land
I have toured the world
Took great care of my kids
Lord you know I have paid my dues
I have lived my life
I am ready to go out
Just a word Lord man to Man if I may
Before the next step this one wish I pray
"To tell her i love her,i love her i do."x2
She has been the love of my life
Still believes in me;Certainly there is nothing to salvage
Feeds me with a spoon, combs my falling hair, change my diapers...
Still she smile at me with those brown eyes like she did when we first met
Am dying to take her fishing (yes am dying) my lungs can't hold the cold
Would like to stay awake listen on and on bout her day;
Am morphined and frail I know am on my way
Just a little breath,Lord, grant me a bit of strength
"To tell her i love her,i love her,i do."x2
(Inspired by Mami bestfriend's husband.A great soldier,a greater father and the greatest husband i know.To the very end of his demise,(march 2012)they were still so happy and deeply in love and ah,i saw her (mummy best friend)the other day and ah,though she is aging...still holding on,i wanted to give her something his,a sound bite of what he might have wanted to say at that final moment. So i wrote her that song...)
Enjoy.
