Becoming Better

So the healing begins,
With just one look,
One kind smile,
Two kind eyes,
And a heart so big it can't be unseen.

I can feel myself breathing again,
I can feel my heart stop bleeding,
And what I'm needing
Has less to do with control,
And more to do with beginning.

Beginning to see
How people love like You.
How he loves me as You do.
I never want to not feel this way,

I want to be in the way,
Of everything this life will offer,
Because I am no longer hiding,
No, I am a loved daughter.  

I am a loved woman,
I am a strong woman,
I am a beautiful woman.
Because he says I am.

I never saw this coming,
I never dreamed of it happening,
Yet here you are in front of me,
Casting light on my doubts,
And loving me all throughout
My sorrow today
Or my sorrow tomorrow.

Because now you share it,
You take it,
You tell me its okay,
And that you can do this
You can do this with me,
You can love me.

And while I draw out your emotions,
You draw out my strength.
While I inspire you,
You inspire me to become a better me.
While I bring out the softness,
You bring out the guidance.

I laugh more freely,
I smile without shame,
I open up willingly,
And I hope you are able to do the same.
