Image for the poem lobster

lobster

Skin was pink and cool
incredibly sweet
and delectable
she had waited all winter
for the succulent moment
to arrive
craving every bite
of decadence

she held the fork
in her hand
plunging it into
the shell
to pull out
a solid piece
of heaven

the hot butter waiting
she smothered the morsel
dripping with exquisiteness
that now hovered over her lips
she closed her eyes
in anticipation
of such a marvelous feast
So sensual, so deliciously wonderful

this had never disappointed her

This was Summer.
