A Yearning

Every day, every hour, every minute
Losing myself in my thoughts
All of them being the same
Missing you is all that is on my mind

Not hearing your voice, the sweet melody within
Agonising at each passing moment
Each moment unbearable as the last
Very little will left in myself to do anything

All the pain a fault of my own
Trying my hardest for us to be together again
Only made things worse, oh how I have really stuffed up
I can understand why you must be fed up with me now

I hope that there is still something there for us
I don’t want to keep making mistakes
I know I am better than that
I will do the right thing

My greatest wish, for us to be together again
A wish that shall not be granted, but earned and fought for
There isn’t anything humanly possible that I wouldn’t do to achieve this
I want nothing, but to cherish that gift again

I want to again be the light in your life
Be that someone special, for you as you are for me
