Angry Not Apathetic!

 All of you liberals pushin'
voting are just pathetic
I'm angry, not apathetic!
you just don't get it.
Social change won't come if we
just vote for it
Between the rulers and the ruled
our interests are the opposite
we demand better lives
while they offer us poison
in return for their bullshit.
You can't stop austerity
by voting for Syriza or the Scottish National Party.

Don't vote ,organize
all governments
are founded on lies.



Elections have only made things worse
it was sold as liberation
now it haunts us like a curse
we're told we can choose
from amongst ourselves
so convinced it's what we wanted,
when we're looking out from our cells.

They told you voting
would get the masters off our backs
They gave the vote first
to working class men
then to the women
then to blacks
and look at all the different it's made
illusioned youth thinkin'
they served the people
as they go to their grave.

Don't vote ,organize
all governments
are founded on lies.

UKIP are not the anti-establishment party
Farage used to be a banker
now he's a rich racist wanker
and  UKIP blame immigrants for
poverty and job losses
turning a blind eye to the evils
of capitalism and the parasitic bosses.

Don't think you can reclaim the Labour Party
such hopes are foolhardy.
Old Labour was as socialist as you think
that's only the whitewashed mythology they've got you to drink.

Neither do I put my hopes in the Greens
the ballot box is too small for my dreams.
Brighton Greens
cut the bin men's wages
then we saw Caroline Lucas
Scabbing as the strike rages

Irish Greens squawking like birds
respectably inactive once in power
causing Global Warming with big empty hot words!

German Greens
Anti-nuclear till in power
turned their backs on former allies
send riot police against the movement
and the myth
they're any different quickly dies.

Don't hold out hope
for Scottish Independence
putting all your energy into
elections, is a death sentence.
We need to move to the offensive
not longer acting in reaction
We need to move from empty yes
slogans
from anger to action

It's often said with a wry smile
well "beggars can't be choosers"
but whoever you vote for
the government gets in
and its us who all end
up the losers.

Even if you put an anarchist
in control of the state,
as shown in the spanish revolution
they'll very quickly turn into
everything they hate!

It's the system thats the problem
not JUST the people in charge
we can't reform our way to a better world
we need a total overhaul of society at large.

Whoever wins
Labour or Tory
the people will lose
it's the same old story.

Voting every 5 years isn't democracy
it's just irresponsible lack of faith in the people,
and I call that
Hypocrisy!

Instead of elections
we need insurrections,
revolutions not referendums.
Instead of waiting for politicians or parties
to act on our behalf
we need to work together democratically
push forward, resisting oppression
and in that process build the path.
The future is a creation of today
we have to build it together
from the grassroots, against hierarchy
that's the only way
yeah that's the only way.
