Wars and Rumors of Wars: A Dissection of the Signs of the Times
Wars and rumors of wars
It seems to me that the bulk of self-proclaimed Christianity as represented in the United States political party is too busy ushering in the apocalypse to do anything helpful in the world. They are too concerned about making the world bad enough that Christ will return, according to their beliefs, that they don't do anything to fix the problems in the world around them. Self fulfilling prophesy at its finest as the chosen people become the evil they have preached would come in the last days before their savior returns.
They are encouraging wars, and creating rumors of wars. They are doing nothing to help global warming, while the day soon comes that "shall burn as an oven."
We see earthquakes from fracking operations, anti-Christs preaching greed on the television, masses of cold hearted people treating the hungry and sick like they are criminals, and the list goes on and on. They teach hate for anybody different, they encourage divisions and conflict between brothers and sisters; fellow human beings, just because of superficial differences, as if we are not all human beings just trying to get by?
So what happens if they are wrong when they are done destroying the world? What happens if there is no afterlife and they have burned down the only world we have? What happens after they have succeeded in getting everybody to hate and kill each other and there are only a small group of people left?
Why can't they just "love one another?"
Love is the secret to survive an apocalypse.

Sammy, this is a very intelligent analysis with a powerful conclusion. I think it's politicians and business "interests" that are really jeopardizing peace, the environment and any real sense of social security. There are Christians that proclaim moral rectitude while operating under hypocrisy. There are others, some choosing to remain quiet about their beliefs, that are simply doing what they can, making some kind of contribution without judging others. I agree with you about the love. It's essential with or without the Apocalypse.

I love this piece, cleverly written by a true wordsmith - however we will have to disagree with its conclusion - I believe love to be the most destructive emotion on the planet - ooops did i really type that out - yikes !!!

It is the corporations that run the politics of this world. War is money.
Our Prime Minister is selling off Canada piece by piece to China and Saudi Arabia. Giving away our water rights to Nestle to fill useless plastic bottles that will end up in the 'plastic island' floating between our west coast and Japan. It's fucked.
BUT, we can all set our intention. Our intention to love, our intention to invest in small business, our intention to say no. To all of it. First stop, save the bees. Or we're really fucked. Thanks for inspiring this conversation! I could go on alllll day. But I'll save ya'll the headache :)
