Green

      Green is a new beginning, and the most cheerful of colors. Springing steps and a "zoing!" is heard whenever I see the color green. Fresh grass, fresh new adventures, the green-horned Fool of the Tarot endeavoring on seeing past the cliff he strolls on are all facets of green. Somewhere in the center of the spectrum is green, the middle initial of Roy Biv, and such an young state. Jealousy, envy, worship of money, excessive indulgence in marijuana, overreach-- Green is ambitious. Elves and Kermit, Jade and the original Lantern, Pine trees and fast lights, green is the feeling of cruising, of momentum without pause. Everything that I've ever eaten that was green seemed to only represent a facet of green's taste. From mint leaves, to snap beans, to limes, broccoli, bad meat. Green is going places, nothing hidden, but everything revealed as it comes. A green sky would feel more mellow than blue, more on the comedown than the rise. Perhaps why advertisers use it sparingly. Reds and yellows scream from neon signs and cereal boxes. Even Diggums, the Honey Smacks frog shows so little of his green skin. I was in elementary school when I discovered a strange attraction to She-Hulk as well as Gamora, from Guardians of the Galaxy, both green-skinned heroines. This led to a childhood of body acceptance, no pull of race-hate and an adulthood of being a heroine-addict. As in, I must have sex with women who have saved someone's life. Preferably green-skinned badass ones. Green against anything appears to be slightly out of place. Perhaps why green skin as a dominant feature looks so natural. The whole body smiles at once. Zoing!
