Scales

Feel the scales so hard so sharp
as I pet the evil beast
see the eyes a tantalizing glow
waiting begging to be unleashed

Stuck in dark confinement
talons click as they unsheath
terror rushes through my blood
knowing what lies deep beneath

Pray for control over the deafening howl
the lock falls whisper of sound
most mournful yet furious growls

Wings float dangerously surrounding
in a mesmerizing melody

In the dragons eyes
heart merges with mine
never to be completely free

Tantalizing destruction
shall follow in its wake
feel it pulling inside
powerfully trying to take

Strength comes in waves
if ever we intertwine
ishall lose my soul forever
never again to be mine.
