"Coffee Shop Stranger"

Making me smile.
Making me blush.
It’s the coffee. . .
That’s what I tell myself.
It’s too hot, that’s all.
I glance up and--
You’re already looking at me.
Our eyes lock.
My heart is pounding, in my chest.
I want to melt into the floor.
Wave a wand and disappear.
You’re just a coffee shop stranger.
With piercing eyes.
I never met you before.
But I feel like I know you.
Coffee shop stranger.
Your cheshire cat grin.
I waved at you.
And you waved back at me.
Coffee shop stranger.
I don’t know what this means.
I’m so new to all of these things.
This feeling, alive--
Fluttering, in my chest.
My hands shaking--
Heart pounding--
I like this feeling.
It makes me smile--
It makes me blush--
Coffee shop stranger.
Can you stay?
Just for a while?
Let me keep this feeling?
Let me blush and smile?
Coffee shop stranger.
I never felt this way.
Have you before?
Or am I your first?
I’m sorry--
I don’t mean intrude.
I was just asking, because. . .

Coffee shop stranger.
I don’t mean to waste your time.
I just thought that you'd like to know.

You are mine.
