Through It All

Through It All

Verse 1:

Yo, see my momma told me that I could make it/and daddy, well, he told me I could take it/ all the way to the top, but be careful that I didn't fake it/ cause if it's something that I love, I should embrace it/ so I kept my hand steady like a gun with my pen/ read and wrote everyday over and over again/ it's what keeps me mellow when the sky is black instead of being bright and yellow/ all the while trying to find a girl with the right "hello"/ hell, maybe even with just a pretty little smile/ someone to just chill with who would stay for awhile/ cause this life as writer can get lonely when all I got is this ink/ it's all over the place, even on my skin, what else should I think/ about doing with the words that I got bleeding from my chest/ I guess all I can do is keep moving forward and try my best/ cause this life that I'm livin gets a little bit complicated sometimes/ maybe that's why I like to get it all out, through these ryhmes/

Hook:

Man, I've been through it all, the drugs, the booze and the girls/now, I'm just trying to clean myself up from riding this Tilt 'A Whirl/that had me payin quite the price, everytime I got on/ so if I can stand up again, you can too, so sing along/

Verse 2:

I'd been getting into trouble with the cops and yet still, I didn't stop/ I never took the time to really question why my actions were part of the plot/ cause this story of mine should have been full of violence and curses/a whole lot of prayers, a few funerals and plenty of hearses/ see, for awhile it felt like I was dying each and every day/I never had a reason to pick myself up or find my way/ through the pain that I had aching inside my mind/wasn't really sure what I could do except hit rewind/ live those dark nights again and again/ even if I did decide to pick up my pen/ the words that hit the page weren't right, nothing seemed to make any sense/ talking about digging myself out of this hole when I couldn't even climb the fence/ so I made a promise to myself that I would try to see things positive and give/ back to the ones who believed in me and start to live/ like a King instead of some kind of villian in the shadows/ take things to another level, and stand high on this plateau/

 Hook:

...cause man, I've been through it all, the drugs, the booze and the girls/now, I'm just trying to clean myself up from riding this Tilt 'A Whirl/that had me payin quite the price, everytime I got on/ so if I can stand up again, you can too, so sing along/

Verse 3:

The bottom is a place that any of us can find ourselves lost in/it's where I knew I had to change the way I was looking at life and find a way to win/ cause I'd been losing the battle with all these addictions destroying my heart/couldn't really see things positive, but I knew I had the strength to start/building a ladder to get myself out of this dark hole in the dirt/ so I wrote all these pages, piled them high no matter how much it meant getting hurt/ I came to terms will all the bad things that I had done/ then all of the sudden the sky opened up and I saw the sun/ it was beautiful and standing above me I could see a woman with bright eyes and golden hair/ maybe she was the one who I'd been hoping for to take me there/to a place where the day didn't matter and neither one of us had a care/ in the world except the way we got lost in one another's stare/ now, if she could just grab hold of my hand and help me get through these last few feet/then I could finally get out of this hole and plant my soul in this beat/ free my mind and my heart and give her anything that she could ever desire/ until the day I have to end my verse and finally retire/

 Hook:

...now you know, I've been through it all, the drugs, the booze and the girls/now, I'm just trying to clean myself up from riding this Tilt 'A Whirl/that had me payin quite the price, everytime I got on/ so if I can stand up again, you can too, so sing along, if you've been through it all/
