Lost, Nameless, Dead.

A room filled with burdens,
All so heavy,
And so pure,
The ceiling fan spins,
And he watches,
The blades go around,
And around, over
And over,
Fearing what exists outside,
Outside these mere walls,
His life has been reduced,
To nothing but a story,
A story of how,
The nameless child,
Lost his name,
Lost his life,
Lost himself...
Peering through,
The cracks of life,
He finds broken ties,
Bridges amounting to ash,
And incompetence
He finds himself,
Far, far away,
Lost, searching, striving,
But he backs away,
This purposeless man,
Takes matters into his own hands,
And now finds himself,
Far, far away,
Lost, nameless, dead.

I like the structure of this. And I loved the repetion of the word 'outside'. Don't know why. It's just did something for me.

A fearsomely intelligent piece of poetry, and a wondrous evocation of claustrophobic, downbeat feeling. I especially loved the line 'bridges amounting to ash' for some reason I don't quite understand...
