Father, I know I haven't been the easiest
Father, please hear me when I feel I'm the smallest
Father, I've been good and I've done what I should, but what could I do to make you proud of me?,
I sometimes wonder if you really love me,
You denied me at times,
You made me feel whatever I've done wasn't good enough.
Whenever I'd make a mistake you'd point it out,
Whenever you were stressed you'd take it out on me.
Tell me, what can I do to make my father proud?,

You weren't the best man you know?.
You were low down at times,
You were caught in your lies, but then so was mother,
I cannot cry because I know that's weakness in your eyes.
There were times when I was searching for another father-figure to fill in that void of loneliness,
The emptiness of not being able to live up to your expectations is sometimes a bit hard to swallow, but of course I can't just sit back and wallow.
I don't feel hallow nor do I wish for a better father, but my question is still remaining, what can I do to make my father proud?.
