As long as you're there
As long as you’re there
Drinking, drugs, it’s all the same.
It changes nothing, yet everything except your name.
The difference is you don’t buy drink from a dealer.
No policing, it’s easy!
That’s how it steals you.
My Family is broken
Because the law doesn’t care
If she drinks in here
As long as she isn’t in there.
They said we weren’t in danger,
There was nothing they could do,
To my dad they said ‘It’s up to you’
So I’ve spent years of my life,
In my heart,
In my head,
Grieving for a woman who isn’t even dead.
Because we live with a law that doesn’t even care
If she drinks in here,
As long as she isn’t in there.
Drinking, drugs, it’s all the same.
It changes nothing, yet everything except your name.
The difference is you don’t buy drink from a dealer.
No policing, it’s easy!
That’s how it steals you.
My Family is broken
Because the law doesn’t care
If she drinks in here
As long as she isn’t in there.
They said we weren’t in danger,
There was nothing they could do,
To my dad they said ‘It’s up to you’
So I’ve spent years of my life,
In my heart,
In my head,
Grieving for a woman who isn’t even dead.
Because we live with a law that doesn’t even care
If she drinks in here,
As long as she isn’t in there.
