Tree

I'll take advantage but I will not beat you there
and I won’t scream when you forget a sugar, dear,
in my tea and I will kiss you when you’re less than perfect here.
I will adapt when you are far too good for me. I suppose

what I’m saying is you’re my Hollywood. I suppose
what I’m saying is the days have gone and stood
down by the cherry tree we planted in the lounge and
it grew so big it chased us out of town.

Now I will take advantage but I’ll bite my tongue
and I will love you like you are the only one.
Though we both know we are promiscuous, dirty souls,
nobody else could hold me as I got both wrinkled and old.

What I’m saying is you’re my Hollywood. I suppose
all I’m saying is you did more than you ever should
we were happy on our mattress on the sea
and everything bobbed along, just like you and me.

That was a dance and song you heard, and moved along
and the tide pulled us out in a cherry tree filled shore
so we ran until our throats hurt and our feet were awful torn
and I loved you more with every cherry dawn.[/font]
