More Monopolistic Than Thou

A bead of sweat drips down the side of my face. My breathing, like my mind, is quieted and focused. I am ready to make my next move, but what will that move be? I examine the board carefully, taking note of which cyan and orange and gray tiles belong to you and which ones haven't been purchased yet. I narrow my eyes as I look at you and the board several times, looking for a giveaway; a weak point.

"It's been twenty minutes, MC. Are you going to move or pass?" you ask, looking at me, slightly concerned.

"Shhh... I'm working..." I whisper as I finally come to a decision ten minutes later. I make my move, buying the Boardwalk. I then sit back and fold my arms, smirking confidently. Initially, the purchase of the Boardwalk seemed intimidating however, the fact you've been holding back on purchasing it has lead me to believe that it will be my greatest asset in assuring my victory.

"Okay," you answer, quickly buying out the railroads and leaving me bankrupt.

"...what."

You chuckle, "I just beat you." I can literally feel my eye twitch in utter disbelief. This had been the first time in my entire life I had both played and lost at Monopoly; perhaps I should practice and study up on strategy more before playing next time.

I sigh, smiling, "And what did you win? I don't remember playing for anything in particular when we began six hours ago."

"Whoever loses has to do whatever the other person says for the rest of the night," you wink, undoing the top button of your shirt.

I feel my cheeks turn bright red, "Maybe losing isn't so bad after all."
