Midnight Fire

You seem to sneak
into everything I do.
I hope someday I see you
on the news,
your corpse battered, bloodied and bruised.
You're like an infection or a cancer at best.
You spread and spread until there's nothing left.
My patience, for example, ran dry ages ago.

The quietest mention of your name
sends violent shock-waves
into my brain,
migraine pain consuming me again.
I can't seem to spend
enough time perfecting every image and thought
of how you'll someday lay down and die,
hopefully just in time
so I can have some peace finally in my life.
I just so desperately want an end to this strife.
For once,
I'm not the one who's going to get the end of the knife.

When I see your face, I hold nothing back.
My life is all out of whack
because of you.
And the beauty of it all?
You don't even know what you did.
You couldn't even pay me to spit
in your direction
yet alone look at your face for more than a second.

I despise you with every single fiber of my being.

This,
I will take to both my grave and yours.
