Dirty Little Secrets

You kept a secret for many years,
You thought it was your dirty little secret,
It wasn’t you though,
It was him,
You were a small child at the time.

When you developed the courage to tell the secret,
You grew in a way that was spectacular,
And I loved you for the way that you showed such passion, resilience and determination,
I was proud of you, turning your life around after your childhood was snatched away from you.

Then another dirty little secret occurs,
Only this one is very much YOUR dirty little secret,
You had turned dirty,
When once you were pure,
And this one was your fault.

I once was there determined to make you see you were not dirty,
I lay awake with you in my arms,
But then out of your own choice you became dirty,
The sweet, amazing girl was no more.
And even though it is not a secret anymore,
It always was and will be dirty just like what the evil one did to you all those years ago.
