St Crispin's Day
"It don't look good, I'm just sayin is all"
"it don't look good"
She'd never said that before
trying to fake a smile as he looked back at her
his muscular jaw line textured into a smile,
she knew he too was faking it,
"it'll be ok girl" he said
"we been here before" as he pulled the bow back to it's
zenith before releasing.
"Not like this" she said under her breath as she gathered up the fallen
arrows from those poor souls departed.
she needed to be quick at over forty arrows loosed a minute,
her task wasn't made easy, watching for arrows returned in flight.
A sound like rumbling thunder made her stop,
she knew instantly..she'd heard the stories,
her breath caught in her throat,
The sound of death was what it was,
She ran back to her husband.
"John" she cried out above the noise of battle
"Oh John" as she dropped in despair to her knees and prayed to St Crispin
"I know Love, I hear it too" he said, his arm shaking
as he pulled the string back once again.
"Hold it together lass Go collect the arrows"
"I think we going to nee.." he said, but the last
part was without sound as he looked ahead..
In the distance..
The heavy Horse had arrived..
*My take on a little slice of history
A small slice at that xD*
