I cry often...
I cry often...
"Often" here is a relative term
Its like opening a window and allows me to see things clearly...
Could be a song ...
Something one of my children's done or
just hearing another's story and realizing how blessed I am...
Once in awhile, the blues set in and I start down a rabbit hole but that's rare...
My moments permits me to appreciate life and what others have given me...
Never a sign of weakness but a tool to strengthen my soul
It helps me continue to stand against the winds that seem to push me in all the...

I'm tired of meeting you...
I'm tired of meeting you...
You've a different walk but headed in the same direction as the rest...
Using different verbiage but it's all the same shit...
Sometimes taller, Sometimes shorter BUT it's still you...
First impressions are lasting...
They've allowed you entrance into my life but..
Your all carrying the same baggage, empty suitcases really...
I know I've repeated myself but, that's what you all do...
You all speak of wanting something better...
To have someone on your side who's like minded, yet you fall short...

Struggle meals...
A struggle meal isn't a meal your struggling to prepare...
It's one you struggle to put together...
You lack the basic ingredients needed for a balanced meal therefore,
"It's a struggle "...
I suppose these days, a "cup of noodles" might be consider one but...
I'm thinking on the lines of:
Mayo, Ketchup, Mustard, Syrup, Sugar sandwiches...
Butter noodles, ( margarine really) but lets stay on point...
Dry beans and rice that HAD to last more than three days...
...

Good morning, Thank you, Please , Your welcome...
Made a call this morning...
Opened with," Good Morning"...
Person on the other end seemed perplexed...
Did I say something wrong...?
Held the door open for several folks and not one said,"thank You"
Am I expecting too much...?
Ask me if I want or need anything and if I reply, "Please"...
That's the same as yes, so stop acting surprised...
Helped a person pick up a heavy item and place it in their car...
As they started to walk away, I said, "Your Welcome"...
It's called manners:
A way in which a thing is done or happens... ...

If my daughter asks...
Tell her I was a man's man...
I pressed my pants daily...
Could tie my own tie
Polished my shoes
Smelled like a man should
Walked with my head up
Prayed with my head down
I loved her as a man should
"without question"...
Even when it seemed like I was upset; my love for her never wavered...
Let her know ...
I lived for her smile, her holding my hand , hearing her call my name...
I tried to made sure I told her everyday of her life, "I love You"...
I need her to understand ... ...

I'm a hopeless romantic when few still believe...
The way you react to my touch is always unpredictable ...
Goose bumps raised on your arms when I'm in your personal space...
That burning sensation in your chest, when you see me walking towards you...
The last song we listen to before the world woke us from our trance;
it's still playing in my head...
I can still smell you on my hands..
Taste you in the back of my throat...
I'm progressive, not nasty but I do enjoy seeing you exposed...
I love...

I get tried of overhearing , "Your just like your father"
How would you know...
According to you, he didn't stay around long enough for
YOU to get to really know him...
No disrespect intented ...
This is what your son wants to say to you:

Two first graders are in class ...
A boy calls a girl a bitch...
He used it in the proper urban context...
She knew it shouldn't have been said but she still wanted an explanation...
She reads above her grade level , he has trouble spelling /writing his name

17 million spent on a charter school...
It's about to close after four years due to poor testing scores ...
Not one word from the community it serves...
Footnote: When food's offered to entice folks to come out...

Right ,Wrong or indifferent...
Before a speech from Dorothy, she'd say ...
" Right ,Wrong or Indifferent...
I find myself wanting to use those words daily...
Wanting to cry out,
Voice my thoughts to those that need to hear side B...
Listening to a young woman plan on ruining someones relationship...
Thinking it's cute to use sex as a tool...
Inflicking pain on another just because she can...
Watching a middle age man cry because he feels disrespected at work...
He's the joke of the office because after thirty year on this earth,
he doesn't understand...

f**kin you is like playing in the mud...
As a child...
I liked playing in the mud...
Who cared how dirty one got...
I could always go inside
wash my hands and start again...
As an adult...
I learned to love playing in the dirt again...
Digging a new hole maded me happy...
However...
I didn't fully understand that some stains are impossible to remove
Some mud stains just never come clean...
FUCKING YOU is on the same level ...
No matter how much I wash afterwards ...
I'll never come clean...
The stains you leave are permanent ...
So instead of...
I liked playing in the mud...
Who cared how dirty one got...

As a parent/care giver, your thinking was...
If we do it at home together then, it's ok
that's equivalent to
putting bullets in a gun,
placing it to ones forehead and pulling the trigger...
A life taken ... Is a life was lost
You sat by and watched...
YOU found nothing wrong with that
Now, you have the nerve to try and make
a home coming service about you...
You should be charge with a...
