And I’m An Addict…
And Like So Many Others,
I’ve Watched
The Smoky Hot
Breath
Of Death,
Pass Me By,
Smelled The End
Miss Me,
For No Reason,
Demise,
Gave Grave Glares
Into My Eyes
And Tried,
To Turn Them Hollow
Black,
I Felt The Whiplash Crack
Of Fate
Slash My Back,
So Deep,
I Had To Sleep,
On My Stomach,
I’ve Been Lucky
See I Was Once Worlds Away
From These Buckled Knees
You See On Stage,
Caged
In...

Bloodied Noses From Left Field Jabs,
The Kidney That Feels The Brunt
When You Get Stabbed
In The Back.
I Am The Intricate Plan
Designed So You Can Only Fail,
The Question With No Right Answer.
I Am The Fighting Chance And Strands Of Hope
That Morally Pull You Through Times Of Disaster.
Sometimes There
Is Distance,
Silence,
No Answer...
And I Am The Truth That Interrupts.
I Am That Pimple...

Daddy's Little Girl

She Was Daddy's Little Girl.
It Was Stamped All Over Her Skin
Emanating Over Her Pink Sugar.
She Held An Empty Beer Bottle,
She Had Milked It To Drench The Voices She Loved,
But Avoided.
Song Moved Her Soul,
And Rhythm Moved Her Hips.
Pom-Poms,
They Were Left Behind Along With Her First Dance,
First Date,
First Love,
Along With Her Virginity,
Left Behind Like A Distant Memory,
Not Forgotten But Considered Rotten.
Her Sororital Veins
Spewed Easy Pickins.
She Was...
She Was Daddy's Little Girl.

I can’t change what I’ve done in the past,
How I’ve built weak walls and let them crash,
The face of insecurity I once displayed,
Melts with reality as a man is portrayed.
Now in clarity I comprehend my self damage,
I see that through pain I’ve gained an advantage,
I’ve been face to face with death like most will never see,
The trials I’ve survived empower and strengthen me.
I’ve looked through the eyes of men and seen evil demons,
Flipped the iris to a mirror so it’s something to believe...
I can’t change what I’ve done in the past,

I see it every day,
Those hips sway
Like brush in the breeze,
Form fit jeans,
Blouse, shirts, skirts
That hurt
To imagine,
Wet jet hair
Forever
Eyelashes slashing
Over Colgate smiles,
Clicking heels,
Sexy stockings,
Shocking exposure,
Exposed shoulders that struck me
And lips that say….
Well, let’s just say
I see it every day
And every day,

See, I don’t have that
Chippendale’s bod,
Abs rock hard
Or a tight...
I see it every day,

Since My Last Fix,
Getting Sick,
Mind Playing Tricks
Chills Settle In,
Body Shakes,
Flirting And Meddling,
With Inner Aches
World So Bright,
Squint To The Brilliance,
Stomach So Tight,
Craving Opiate Resilience
Slightest Breeze,
Can Shatter My Bones,
Inner Freeze,
Burning Moans
Hard To Breathe,
Sharp Pain,
Can't Leave,
Facing Cold Rain
Vision Blurry,
Dripping Cold Sweat,
Gotta Hurry,
Last Bag Ain't Sold Yet
...

I Believe That When We Die We Go To Chocolate.
Depictions Of Heaven With The Clouds And Angels,
Actually Melt In My Milkshake Fountains.
If I Could Eat One Thing
With No Future Implications
That One Thing Would Be ‘Bad’.
I’m Surrounded By Snacks,
Suffocating In Succulent Sweets,
Treats,
Taunting My Daunting Weaknesses,
I Think This Is,
A Ploy,
A Plot,
A Scheme Coming Straight From The Tooth Fairy Who Might Be Low On Inventory,
Oh The Glory
Of Unwrapping
Those Delectable...

I’m Not Referring To
Wars Overseas,
Or In Third World Countries,
I Mean Right Here,
On Our Streets Where
Folks Are On Their Knees,
There’s A War Goin’ On…
See Kids Get Exposed To Crack And Dope
Everyday At School,
We Got 12 Year Olds Transporting,
Becoming Some Thug’s Mule
Because They Look Up And See Guidance,
Find A Role Model
And Think It’s Cool,
But Maybe It Has To Do
With Them Going Home
To A Father Who’s Playing The Fool,
Not ...

I Ran Myself Hard On The Street,
Just A Baby,
Hittin' The Cold Concrete,
The Fear Of Feeling,
Evoked My Defeat,
But I Chose The Path Of
The Lonely, Dark, Bitter And Obsolete;
Picked Up Survival Techniques
To Make Ends Meet,
Learned Life Lessons
Through Being Beat,
In More Ways Than One,
And In Repeat;
So Weak,
No Choice But To Retreat,
Long Sleeves
To Keep Track Marks Discrete,
I Was Desperate,
Lit Fires In Cans For Heat,
Fought To Eat,
Ran Burnt Out Buildings
Leaving The Stench Of Sweaty Feet,

At The Intersection Of Lust, Dreams And Desire,
Where Crowded Clouded Skies
Yield To Chocolate Cream Sunsets,
Harbors Can’t Harness The Depths
Of Passion
So Pervasive You Can Taste It
You Make Me Laugh,
You’re A Sack Of Something Else Sometimes,
I Laugh Uncontrollably
At Your Antics
And Inappropriate Chimes
About The Things You’d Really Like To Say To Your Boss,
Or Certain Friends Who Might Be Overdoing The Lip Gloss,
