Boring Ass Poets
why are you such boring ass poets? asked the poet master.
is it your words? your subject matter?
No.
it’s your misunderstanding of poetry.
you’ve failed to grasp the grasshopper.
you let the purpose get away.
you tried to hide your crime and failure with words.
but the poet master is an astute detective—
he sees where you went away.
and that’s where you went wrong,
you went away.
you chose the path that was safe because it was paved
by footsteps.
you didn’t venture, you didn’t hunt.
you scavenged. and that’s why you’re a boring ass...

I Got An Ass Whooping From Jesus For Christmas
I didn't get shit for Christmas.
Jesus was pissed: you been naughty.
I said: the world ain't nice.
So. Do what I did. Turn the other cheek.
I told Jesus: Fuck You. And fuck the other cheek.
Jesus replied: I'll be seeing you in your sleep.
Shit, Jesus is gonna whoop my ass.
I got an ass whooping from Jesus on Christmas.
The same ass whooping he got from the Romans.
Why you do this to me Jesus? I pleaded.
Jesus said: What comes around, goes around.
I said: Fuck You.
and Jesus dropped kicked me.

Reach For The Stars
when life gets in your way. like a giant tsunami wave.
you drown under its influence. an underwater grave.
you are thwarted. your plans slapped out of your hands.
aborted. sinking. you don't understand.
it hits you hard. it keeps you away. from what you want.
what you've been working for. it keeps your
reach out of your grasp. you're always reaching. and
life is always stretching the space between you and
what you're reaching for. in time, the distance would
be as great as the difference between stars.
