@rabbit if you need to know in the less time then get 123 of them and you will find out in 30 min. If you want to save some then get 1, he has about 2 sec for each buck count 30m - from when it dies to know whitch one was poisoned. Or just do a poison test for 2 euros so you don't have to kill and it will cost less and is going to be much faster.

let me randomly pick a few counting numbers, say 1,3,7
adding various combinations :
1+3+7=11
1+3=4
7+3=10
1+7=8
1=1
3=3
7=7
and if i choose none of them, =0.
Using 1,3,7 lets me make 0, 1,3,4,7,8,10,11
can you think of some numbers, when selectively added together, like above,
allows you to make the numbers,
0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 ?
Can you do it with only four numbers?

1,2,4,8,16 will make any number 31 or less.
ex: 27= 16+8+2+1
ex: 27= 16+8+2+1

(Pedantic answer: no money as they are only linguistic terms and not actual currency, plus a number value break down would help those of us not familiar with the American monetary system.)
Logical answer: 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31, 32, 35, 36, 37, 40, 41, 42. So that is 23 in total, and the number 42 for the meaning to life, the universe and everything.
A boat is in moored in dock at dawn; 7am. It has a pattern from deck to the bottom of the hull and has ten sections. Halfway between low tide and high tide the first two sections are below the water. If the tide continues to rise every 45 minutes, how long before all the sections and the deck are below the water?

My last riddle might not be as slick as the original version or other versions. The answer is meant to be that the boat never sinks; it simply rises with the tide.
A rider rides into town on Monday, stays two nights, and rides out on Friday. How is this possible? (No time travel high jinks or time borders needed to answer.)
