Thanks to JR for understanding, and I'm not sure I'd call everything "snitching"-- depends on what it is, being called attention to, I suppose, but if you turn it around and think of it differently, it can actually be a compliment: if someone found your work and your profile interesting enough to click on to read, then that shows you're doing something right as far as creating a following, even if someone got a little surprise that offended them a bit.

Artists tattling on artists for their art disturbing them is the most absurd thing I've seen on this site, and I've seen some shit on here over the time I've spent on it...

Actually extreme poems are not deleted at all. They are just marked extreme content. And DU is far from fluffy...although one can choose to be fluffy in their own page.

Just to add a bit to Grace's comment: The only time that poems are deleted is if they contain the use of other DUP member's names without their permission, and/or using said members' names in a derogatory and slanderous fashion. Also if something is plagiarized, it's obvious that it will be taken down as well, but other than that, pretty much everything else goes.
And one more point regarding the tattling: the criteria for media acceptability has been posted in this thread more than once, so that all can have access to it. That criteria was set up by the Webmiss, and media that falls outside of these limits could also be considered offensive by some definitions, depending on what the image/video is of. Therefore, "tattling" can be defined in some instances, as more "calling attention to" the fact that something did not meet the acceptability criteria. Any issues with the criteria itself, should be taken up with the Webmiss, if it is felt that there should be no limits on art.

I can't help finding it absolutely hilarious, albeit in a dark way, that certain people let the most disturbed thoughts, ideas, and words escape their mouths and pens (keyboards) etc.. But a picture! Offended!!
Write on about the rape, incest, molestation, murder, genocide, abortion, its all up for grabs! Condemn everyone on the planet in anyway you like! But don't you dare draw or paint it!
I know I'm mad and all but it sits a bit lopsided on my reasoning
I had a dream that the offended writers sat down and directed their feelings of superiority towards a piece of writing that allowed their freedom of expression without infringing on the freedom of others.
I can't disagree that some images shouldn't be online, that isn't the point.
Who defines what is "tasteful porn" ? The American supreme court only got as far as the judge deciding that although he couldn't define it he knew it when he saw it...
Porn magazine owner won that case and is still in mass circulation btw
