Please tell me this whole transgender hype will end soon...
IMO you can't turn your body into something it's not, even if you
feel you're mind and spirit says you're a different sex...It's just not healthy,
and often times,in many ways, very unpleasant ...Biological design should be cherished
as is...Speaking out of ignorance, can't they just portray without surgeries or forced chemical
transformations? there are communities that thrive on that shit right?

is there a hype ? I dunno, it hasn't reached my little fishing island in the north Atlantic yet. ..something to look forward to I s'pose.

unhealthy ?  the mind is complex. if its in dispute with the body then both suffer. I'd imagine a dispute 'tween mind and body over gender is pretty intense

very unpleasant ..i dunno about that either to be honest. if you're talking about looks I don't get it. but if you're talking about having sex with a transgender then I'll take your opinion as informed

I s'pose at the end of the day if people are happy in this shit-hole of a world then more power to them. especially if they have the balls to lose theirs in the process

It's all in the eye of the beholder.

However, if you believe in reincarnation, then you should consider waiting until your next life to obtain the body you want to have.

I am going to be a lesbian in my next life.

People are born trans. Places like tumblr have members that spew bullshit that misconstrues and takes advantage of the concept, usually for attention. In reality, those who actually have to live with being transgender experience a lot of discrimination and hardships mentally and physically. It isn't a choice.

Being transgender isn't, and doesn't involve, "turning your body into something it's not." It's simply a characteristic. Most trans people actually don't opt for surgical medical procedures for transition. Those who do don't take that decision lightly - they often make the decision in the interest of their health, as dysphoria for some of them (discomfort experienced when your gender identity doesn't match your body) is bad enough to cause mental health problems like anxiety and depression. Transition is not turning your body into something it's not; it's changing your body to align it with how you identify on the inside.

Bruce Jenner is pretty now. I don't think there is a hype actually or any issues on this matter. Not where I am at least. Why do you say there is a hype though, Jaspersilence?

I am not living in US, but recently topic was mentioned in tv series that won the award about transgender, some other sifi series called ei8ht, there was a character. So I researched after that. cuz i wanted to know the difference between gay and a transgender. i think in near future there will be more movies about the topic. like milk, philedelphia ;)

Thank you for the references...But scientifically,it is forcing your body to be something it's not...that's just hard facts...if you feel like your a woman, but your a man,or vice versa, just act like a woman...Don't try to force transformation...It's another obvious fact that doing so is very unhealthy....Biology 101...If you're born with a penis,DON'T CUT IT IN HALF AND THEN TAKE THE REMAINDER OF IT,SPLIT IT DOWN THE MIDDLE AND SHOVE IT UP INTO YOUR BODY!...because no matter if you do that...newsflash-IT'S NOT 'TA DA'...,NOW IT'S A VAGINA.

Great. I'll be looking to read a poem about a lesbian chick.

Lesbie chickie tickle me
feather bed and ruffle fluff
got sharp beak to shred the worm
lesbie chickie muddy tuff

okay...your turn. Write the next verse.
(Inspirational flip tip: Lesbie chickens do not get toothaches.)

You know the lesbo stuff is T. Mary's department.

I'm nowhere near as talented as her.

Why do you care what people do with their bodies? And if you don't like the 'hype' why bring it up on a forum discussion giving it more attention?

We are talking about life/health BIOLOGY...not non living elements.. You cant tear the petals off one flower, tape them onto another and say it's the flower before.I do see your point, but waaaaay different.

Hit a soft spot did I?...It's all about info dude...I want to know so I ask...AND...I care about it because I don't agree with temples being rebuilt for humanistic impulses.

Perhaps because your beliefs and imagination are limited by your logic, you can't.

But I would argue that the biology of men and women is quite interchangeable to the point that there technically is no such thing as male or female other than what we project onto ourselves and society. It's quite easy to condition yourself into believing you are a woman in a man's body and vice versa. What we lack now is the understanding of how to spontaneously grow the sex organs of our choice through sheer force of will.

Until then, science may someday aid us in inducing such physical transformation rather than with traumatic reconstructive surgeries. We'll simply take pills and our penises will fall off. We'll take more pills and sprout vaginas.
