Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting works on me every time.. but if you insist on words, the best thing to do, depending on how well you know him, is to get right to the point. Tell him you like him and want to spend time with him. It's that simple. He will explore the avenues of possibility with you...

I hardly think disemboweling will result in feelings of affection and love, it does get their attention though.

Anyway, now that you have hooked us in the future it would be nice to hear some news on the outcome.
