When your in a situation that puts you in danger how do you react?
Do you scream and run?
Do you freeze up?
I normally stop breathing for a moment and do something. (Either fight or flight)
Also when you experience a really bad nightmare do you wake up screaming?
I just wake up all calm, maybe a little tense but I never scream or abruptly sit up.
Just curious.

I embrace it, its life and it excites me.  I seek it, danger.  I have so many bad nightmares I do nothing but accept for it is my fault.  The dead and those you helped along that journey haunt you.

When I have a nightmare, I wake up scared.
I panic, and after that happens.
I can no longer sleep// It is the worse.
When I stay awake after having a nightmare,
I get these pictures in my head
about the nightmare I had.

It's terrifying.

I freeze and think about what
I should do, but I usually can't
move at all.

you gotta know when to start shooting and when to get outta dodge

each "dangerous" encounter presents a different set of challenges and risk

in general though, I tend to be very, very calm, until it's over. Then I tend to have delayed reactions emotionally but even in the midst of a full blown fight, I'm usually thinking, if it is based on a response to a threat I've encountered that is.
However, if it's an emotional thing, like in  relationship with betrayal or something, then it is really more emotional response and that is different...I have been betrayed to the point that finding out the truth rendered me into a blackout state due to the surge of anger and hurt.

so in summary, if you break into my house and catch me off guard then I'll probably calmly kill you and phone the police and then have a panic attack when it's over
and if we're married and I find out you're cheating on me and lying about everything from finances to job schedules-I'll probably lose it, kill you and never remember it all the days I sit in prison

and dreams....who sleeps?

My job is in a high risk area.  The next time we get robbed, I will let you know how I react.  I was not there for the last two robberies.

they'll give all they got to get you
when at a loss for superior firepower gain higher ground
get yourself some real estate
regroup
jus take a min and stage the next offensive
hard work only beats skill
when skill gets scared and doesn't work hard

I like the way you think, Jon, especially this one:
"hard work only beats skill
when skill gets scared and doesn't work hard"

It's hard to regroup though when you're outnumbered and outmaneuvered most especially when you're alone.

I came face to face with a bear 3 separate times. I couldn't move, not because I was afraid, but because I liked looking in their eyes, we both didn't blink, it's like we fell in love with each other on first sight. And we kept staring at each other, all we could think on was our eyes, we saw no bear, no man. When I meet with any form or face of Death, I for some reason, fall deep in love.

I'm usually in other people's nightmares. As far as fear goes, I react in ways that data miners or corporate, government and religious goons cannot fathom.

I have to agree here fellas. I hope I didnt necropost. However when insomnia takes over. Some of you know what I go through.
Anyway back to topic. I tend to try not to ever be the lone wolf in the forest. I will go into defense mode and attack if I get cornered. True story.
