Depending on my mood and what I write, I could listen to a plethora ov genres. Majourity ov the time though, I listen to:
- Wednesday 13
- Get Scared
- Five Finger Death Punch
- Slipknot
- Rammstein
- Rob Zombie
- Strapping Young Lad
- Creedence Clearwater Revival
- Atreyu
- Jen Titus
- In This Moment
- Satyricon
- Jimmy Eat World
It really just dulls down to my emotions. Whatever raw energy I'm feeling in the specific moment correlates with whatever genre I choose to listen to.

I personally prefer dramatic music, it's the only thing that got me through the last couple months of writing my novel...
My favorite group is Two Steps From Hell. Some of my favorite songs:
Icarus
Heart of Courage
Starfall
Protectors of the Earth
If you want quieter, more peaceful songs, I'd suggest Brian Crain. He does a lot of nature stuff and it's all up on YouTube.

I usually spend the work day thinking of new sadistic pleasures or distant battle grounds, slowly forming a basis of my poem in my head.
My iPod mostly consists of:
Cradle of Filth
Iced Earth
Therion
Dummy Borgir
Slayer
Sentenced
Type O Negative
Gear
And many others
All of this plays factors in my creativity

I like to listen to the band Cults while I write, usually,"You know what I mean." And I can't be in a crowded or loud environment.
