Understand something, when someone clicks "read full poem" that automatically counts as 1 read to your poem's total reads. That doesn't mean that the person actually read the poem, it just means that what they saw in the preview interested his/her enough to see the rest of the poem. Again, it doesn't mean the person read the full piece. EC or extreme content poems automatically peak a reader's interest on this site because it makes us wonder what the poet actually wrote to qualify as EC. In terms of sex, unless one is asexual (which you will not find on this site), EC erotic poetry is interesting, and I do wonder myself and click on EC erotic poetry. As poets, we appreciate the art of other's poetic genius. So, you ask why the poem "Teenage girl..." received so many views, because it was EC erotic poetry and the reader wondered what you wrote that qualified to be EC erotic poetry. Now, I just read your poem ("Teenage girl..."), it essentially highlights the points you have made in your statements above, but in a more harsh and judgmental tone (my interpretation). Listen, please, some members are "writers who put literature to shame. Who use dirty words to get some attention." That's unfortunate, but it DOES NOT represent the general cohort of poets on this site, or at least those I have encountered. Also understand yes, those writers do use dirty words that create "poetry" and label them EC. We view them to see what they wrote, but once we realize the poem is BS, then we don't finish reading and don't give that poet attention any more. "Teenage girl..." is a poem that insults (or at least I was insulted) members of this site by branding us as people that we are not...in a general sense. I looked at your poetry and clicked on "read poems by author." Your EC poems have the most reads and most of the others are below 50 reads. I also saw that you only have 44 comments and 14 forum posts no trophies. I joined the same exact day as you and (I don't mean to brag) I have 6 trophies, 615 comments and 403 forum posts and have written 133 poems. If you look at my first few poems to my most recent, you will see a dramatic change. I have more reads on my poems (some of which are not EC) and more comments and more likes on my recent poems than my first published pieces. This is because as time went one, I commented on other poet's work, participated in form discussions/poetry competitions, sent personal PMs or personal messages to other poets...I made myself known on this site. My friend MourningCloak (a member of this site) told me great advice when I asked her why I wasn't receiving as much attentions as I desired. She said to get a little I had to give a little. So, the more I participated in forums/competitions and commented on other poets work, the more I made myself known thus making other members want to know more about me. They viewed my profile and thus read my poetry and thus commented on my poetry. Now, back to EC erotic poetry that you condemn as "writers who put literature to shame. Who use dirty words to get some attention." Read EC erotic poetry by RainC or Gypsy Red or Vee. They use dirty words, but cleverly and they DO NOT put literature to shame. I must admit my EC erotic poetry is a little immature with its diction, but, my other poems, especially my dark ones, are popular and I am proud of them and they do not put literature to shame. I've not read your poem or been trolled by it. I write erotica but I'm not obsessed with it or with mating, albeit "some" are but not "all"
I believe more views on the erotic genre come from non-members (more than likely people browsing erotica in general being directed here via google)

I read it to find out if it merits EC or Normal. I am neither impressed nor obsessed, and I have written erotica too. Not too good, but readable. Maybe those who viewed you like that genre of poetry. Or curious because of the topic. At least you were read.

Allen, I'll be surprised if anyone gives you an honest answer in defense to your last question, if they feel "trolled"/targeted (offended)by your poem. More likely those kind will jump on you with personal attacks. (Just block them if they do.)
I once posted erotica titled "The Dirty Part" and marked it extreme content.

Now when I post rare erotica, if it hits a view of 100 and has no comments, I usually delete it. Overexposure and no feedback is not a good sign. You might want to google those erotic poems of yours to see if the lines appear elsewhere on the internet, because silent viewers do plagiarize, even the simplest of poems.

And why is that the same 'smart' people who work out we can be so much better don't seem to realize that some people are actually better, and that we are complex beings. Complex beings who can both appreciate smut and filth and crude humour but also acutally make the world better or even read or listen or ingest something and not become obsessed and addicted to it.
