Question:  I'm about to post my entry.  Is one entry per participant the rule for this competition, or do you allow more? Thank you, Crim, and good theme!

Leap of Faith

I approach you, hidden as I am
clotted cream and honeyed, with eyes
rolled back like twin half moons,

when now arrives a moment promised
like so many I've promised, and had

with you, for anything more is an
injustice while my flame still flickers.

You're reminded how precious, fleeting
and eternal living is while in and for
the moment, embodied in the four elements,

with so much dying, conscious-struck,
of how even my own longing glides
beneath briny grave sites.

The primary force of an ancient sea
eroding into canyons that ambush.

I've shown you we needn't bow to it,
the limits of dismemberment.

That we can let go and fall between
undulating shoulder blades of flint
that renders the husk of my body.

Breathe the incandescence of my promise,
the incendiary moment to the flash of
lightning, pierced by its javelin tongue,

through blinding white skies renting.
And again it comes, cutting through wineskins
of our carnality, to swoon from its clarity.

A profound trust of loss as you wake,
an endless leap of faith while I sleep.

Remembering at that moment,
you believed in it all for my sake.

The Red Lady

Sweeps through the walls
carrying her chains and balls
echoing laughter behind her
She's a wise man at night
offering gifts of Frankensence & Mur

Clocking the leaves and branches
waiting for snow and avelanches
echoing songs behind her
She's a dreamer by day
unloved for wearing the real leather & fur

Stoped in her trax by a bag full of trix
having seen thorns & sharp stix
echoing poetry before her
She's an addict, from dusk untill dawn
silently protecting her brothers and spawn

-x-

This is about as esoteric my poetry gets. Intentionally difficult to grasp, and often not as long or structured as my other works. Hope you like the fresh write.

IN PETRICHOR SCULPTED MEMORY

Twilight in this vacuous space
Projected onto my selfish need
My heart aquiver, repose
Yet to be finalized, the deed
And silence was mellifluous
Wrapping the gilded skies and
Draped over the clouds, leaking
The shadow of a cosmic fire
What serenity to be a spectator
Depravity of the predator
Slow droning like somnambulism
In the ecstasy of night bondage
What trail matters not
Matters the most
Voluntary host
Limerant ghost
Ineffably lost
In petrichor sculpted memory
An ethereality subjective
In ascension was the epiphany
Like transient syzygy
And effervescence abundant
Redirected now to denouement
The time is now
Dagger and chain
To erase a name

Asherah Ashratum
Dadda was a carnival steel hum-drum[
waves his heart about in the star slum
(Something like a merry-go-round round)

&baby was a smoking gun of no fortune
[Mumma was a hillside nun by the ocean]
and brother drunk his rum yum
Waving his blunt end for fun and commotion.

Sunlight shone moon black upon my back of luv 'guv
oh Asherah Ashrat-um
At which point it stuck badly in the rug thus!\]
i become a teenage imbecile at eleven some

and the young girlies oblige[d] and moandd on &on
[such sweet nothings up-to heavens !]
so faintly they could not be a word heard
(yeah or even hardly imagined!)

Momma was a bluesman in the swampland
Cool cool hot as a chrome Trans-Am
Poppa was a melancholy minstrel by chance man
Indubitable in the sun-sad of his last dance and.

Poppa was a upstate lady maybe
[A machine operator with a c-gar maybe[]
And baby hinged on a sharp tooth immenxely
]Said alligator in his lawn to no-one]

a..nd too think
o A s h e r a h  o  A s h r a-t u m
i have worn no luminous suits
or sweet songs

But in every lie reckon i the daylong
there lies thirty seconds worth of reason]
And never will we sleep to dream again
Not once in this town so called or season even.

~ lu

and he asked
what I want[ed]

and where?

and I said:

I want to ride
                    (like this)
I want to fly
                    (like this)
I want you to make
my flowers
bluff
bend my body over
till my cave
crush[es]

I want to be the

La,

    La,

         La

in your flute...
I want to be the

Ooh,

       Ooh,

               Ooh

moaning
when I blow it
f l o a t it like lu

so move

m     o     v     e

I have
some~where
to go
some~thing
to ride
some~place to fly

you asked me
what I want[ed],
right? ~

the deer
is running near
my body
is running scared
pulling up in your coupe
no goons, baby, just troupes
and you say

show me what it do?

and you say

I'm just tryna get ya
in the mood

so move

m     o     v     e

then come to me
and I'll push you
like some juice
'cause you want
to ride
'cause you want
to fly
and now you ask me
what I want?

come inside
I'll change your life

better prepare

the use of the double negative
                                   i get the intensity
                                   for my inclination to facetiousness
                                   engendering your choler

Thoreaux said it well- it takes two
                                   the terminological inexactitude
                                   laid in hibernation, unaware
                                   of autheniticity's ubiquitousness

life's inscrutable routine leaves me bemused
                                  grey's abundance is surreptitious
yet we don't live in a two toned world
fuzzy-logic? time for birdie to be flipped!

Equinox

soon, the black-caved soil balancing
on pounds of sky will fall beneath
evensong's darkening skirts
for it's in the blood now,
ascension and ennui writhing
on the pivot of reddening skies
that come to challenge fear

but these sunsets are mine now,
microcosms caught in glass jars
seeping through my chakras
in slow motion and solitude-
beneath them I carry you
to worship with me;
two halves of ire
born of the flame
