Dove
( a Sonnet )

I'll never understand the need for hate
By those who can't believe in simple love.
Who try to make all people rue their fate,
To seek to silence evermore the dove.

The world has always been embroiled thus
Between the nations, countries' armies fight,
With euthanasia to be rid of us.
The ones who make it, homeless in their flight.

Bequeathed from those who die in innocence,
Their hopes. in vain, that generations thrive.
Instead, the senseless killing of vengeance,
Where terrorism learns to come alive.

When will it come to pass that love is all,
That ev'ryone should rise, and never fall!

Peace ✌💫

To live in ones sublime presence.
For all to live in lucidity.
You where born loved,by spirit or fate
Keep your mind open, there is so much to be grateful for.

Hate is a learned behavior.
An infant or child only knows
what it feels or is taught.
You can still teach an adult
who lives in hate, to love.

Love fine line to hate
Kindness vs selfish
Positive thinkers accomplish
Hate has never resolved anything

Hate is not your fate
Hate is an option
Hate is the hell we see in our land
Hate is not much, it's just easier

Peace is always an option
Peace is in all souls
Peace is to forgive,
Peace is not to forgive horrific acts
Peace is to forgive yourself, for allowing the horrific acts to consume
your beautiful mind.

Love is fate
Love is not an option
Love is everything

Peace and kindness
For you all✌💫

Peel Back The Skin and See

There’s no mystery in history from the past that seeks thee
like those images of slaves lynched from sycamore trees,
many hear the cries of their ancestor’s pain
but here we are in 2016 wiping tears with a-
handkerchief of oppression’s remains.
Racism is hatred that gains traction on ignorance tread
then grabs a hold of stupidity; idiocy bred,
and what boggles my mind in this day and age
is that some believe we’re still different,
when we all bleed red.
Generations of children culturally mislead
prejudicial influences through years’of being spoon fed-
by parents intellectually lacked;
not just speaking of caucasians either,
I’m including some blacks.
I ponder how long will it take
to remove evil from the mind before it contaminates,
infects spirits, leaving many hearts bitter…
with souls like black roses, those that die and withered.
There’s such a beauty and uniqueness
in the difference shades of our skins,
if we just bypass the exterior....and look at what lies within.
Harmonize two hues of paints and watch them blend,
an outcome more gorgeous then it first begin.
My family and friends come in all colors
I’ve never once discriminated underneath covers,
my thighs divide and provide an equal opportunity...
with my worthy selective lovers,
I'm more concerned with righteousness and merit in others.

...and I wonder....
if you saw blue eyes, blonde hair with white face
then peeled back a layer…
revealing sun-kissed skin, brown eyes of African race,
*would you look at me differently?*

Rain~

TAKING AIM
( a non-violence modern sonnet )

It never changes through the ages, life,
To dwell upon this in a comfort place.
Our world is more & more obsessed with strife.
When sadness settles in one's dreary space.

What Lennon sang in song, happiness is,
These days, even for crim'nals on the run.
Of ev'ry single kind, both hers and his,
But as for me, I'll never own a gun.

In truth, it is the way we'll always be,
No matter where I am, north, east or south.
As for the west, I'll abstain for a fee,
So sayeth I, when I "shoot" off my mouth.

Please learn a thing or two from what I say,
It's not worth getting shot on any day.

A Message from the Meek

Listen you men in gilded cages
of security in worlds of plenty
Leave us be in land unknown
Leave us in blissful ignorance
of your might in genocide
your power in massacres
We don’t need to know
your might of War.

BREAKING BREAD
(a sonnet)

What’s wrong with Kansas? Less than we had thought
The Lord does move in ways perhaps unseen
Too often cops and crowds seem battles fought
In Wichita, they chose a different means

Instead of helmets, clubs, and riot gear
The cops manned grills with dogs and burgers laid
The protesters then put aside their fear
Both ate and danced, that’s how progress is made

Too long we stood as if it’s us and them
Spent too much time in making foes of friends
Too long our little diff’rences condemn
Spent too much talk defining hostile ends

I hope this shows when all is done and said
It’s easy to join ranks when we break bread

It's just a joke, stop getting butthurt

They say there's a fine line between love and hate
But no
There's a fine line between no respect and execrate
You see, it starts off with seeing not a person

But a subjugate
A theif
An idiot
A whore

Maybe it's the color of skin or a single mother
Or seeing a retard, a stupid mother fucker
Either way it's that disrespect, those labels
That make you see not a person
BUT a fucking fable

Created by
Who knows?
Your father, mother, maybe a friend
Society
Media
Or maybe a disciplinarian

Whatever it is
I am sick
Sick of the profile
The gender
And everything in between

I'm also sick of arguing
And of people bickering
Over these points
These justifications we anoint

When we slur
Curse
Joke and stir
Perpetuate messed up things
And call it humor
Degrade people's feelings
This is hate
In its most furtive form

It's an idea
A thought
Something not extinguished
With knives and guns
It's the most dangerous
Thing in existence

You want to rid the world of hate
You won't
You can only catch yourself
And stop those who don't
Learn respect from when they are young
Really, it's the only thing that can be done

The subtle Effect of Hate

It's so easy for it to leak through
She was young, open, and completely trustful
Of her mother, her aunts, siblings, and friends
How was she to know the loathing behind intentions

So happy and loving was she
Displaying sweet tendencies
She tried so long to be carefree
Until they started treating her so roughly

Her mother was determined to cage her
With hanging crosses and bible Sundays
A whore that little girl became
As she became her own woman
An accomplished, determined scholar
But shunned from by her own mother
For not marrying the rich, conventional
And marrying for love
She didn't even show for her wedding day
Or when the day came where new life gave way
Through tunnels of pain and anguish
Full of love and that same determination

Her beloved aunts and uncles
Watched in dismay
As all of their hope for her to fail
Simply wafted away
And irony struck
As their daughters lost their way
Got pregnant as teens
Got wasted and couldn't seem to stay clean
But still, there she was
My mother, the whore
The godless concubine
Of demons and God knows what
In their minds

Even through all of this she found them
More people filled with hatred
Posing as sisters
Friends and gospels

But with her daughter she knew
Looking in those eyes
That she would never betray her
And as the years went by
She grew and became the most confident girl
Cause her mother said she would conquer the world
She never told her she wasn't enough
Or too stupid and would have to live her life rough
When she failed she told her to try again
With her best and one day she would surely attain
Everything that she worked her, she loved her
And then
One day the girl came to her
On her knees, and said

"Mother, they hate me, they say I'm not enough, my mentors, my teachers, they say life will be rough. Even though I try, they still find ways to hurt me. Please, mom, please tell me, please don't desert me."

With a heavy sigh and a backlash of memories
She looked at her daughter as this day she was dreading
Looked into her eyes and opened her mouth to say:

"Oh honey, I want to tell you something. All my life I was too fat, too skinny, too skimpy, for having friends, going out, and not settling. Did you know I was supposed to be a whore, a teen mom, and a dead end employee? Too sinful to be blessed, too horrible for anyone to love me? You see when someone says something enough times, you start to believes them, but trust me, they are lies! I never told you anything that simply wasn't true, cause this pain is something I never wanted you to go through. The hate in this world will always be directed at you, but remember that, baby, none of it is true."

She looked at her baby and wiped away her tears
As she saw the pain and doubt simply disappear
Little did she know that in a couple of years
Her baby would graduate as an intimidating engineer

Your words hit so close to home. There's no hate in them, just a pleading that holds reason not seen in many. I find myself feeling that you are speaking of things that plague me in most days when I see violence acted out in the name of peace. Thanks for the wonderful post!

JOY-FILLED

Alone or with a mate in crime,
It starts without a thought in rhyme.
Or in duet with you in time,
With hands & arms just like a mime!

To letting go without a care,
Like being filled with happy air!
Without a breath it takes me there,
A dizzyingly love affair.

For morning, night and afternoon,
At anytime and very soon.
To float up high over the moon,
The gift of health in laughter's boon!

Being with You

I find joy
in the twinkle of your eyes
I find love
in the touch of your hands

I feel peace
in the crook of your arms
I feel contentment
in the sounds of your snore

I want to live like this forever
basking in the sun of bliss
bathing in the sea of serenity
life's slow dance with you.
