Sometimes, seemingly compassioniate words for others, are not about helping the other person. It’s about our own ego, helping ourselves

From a longer poem entitled 'The Word':

Admire its bold façade,
Fixed and certain in its form.
But hear its echoes;
Peer down its dusty passages
Which branch and meet through time,
Where recessed doors are closed on ancient rooms.

Met-her for

Met-her for

a drink.

Ambrosia lingers in my throat as sweet stench caking my eyes.

Met-her for

a walk

right off a cliff.

I'm still falling.
