Ashtray, amplifier, statue
Guitar strings shiver
through a beat-up amplifier
he rests wide-legged upon it,
fingers torn between worlds
of pearl frets and a glass ashtray,
exhaling chords into an afternoon
thick with melancholy.
To be a statue in this world
is obsolete, yet necessary
to feel the slow hum of lyrics
seep from his grateful skin.
Satellite, arrow, wooden

and then there's Dàithi : took the long road to recovery. y'know.. slipped and slid a bit on the way. thats not to say he didn't try like a motherfucker, ..just wasn't up to staying on a wagon too long.[ travel sickness no doubt.] anyway, he got got caught with his trousers down, country fair marque, where all the dignitaries: chief of police and the mayor, put on Wellington's and let their hair down
anyway, he -Dàithi- had been finding much joy from the mayor's beloved who was on her knees with a hand on his reputation and a tongue that seemed to have stopped motion at an unfortunate time. suffice to say, she was shaking like a leaf at the sight of the intruders, and there were some things Dàithi had no control over, so over it went
they both made for the fields, and got their feet soaked in dew, [apparently the dew put up aa fair fight for survival ..since the sun was ready to fall]. anyway, they ran like cats on hot coals, and she provided the sound effects, let the mob behind them know, the pair were too far ahead for them to go any further.
