The Mother in Law

She never thought she could do what she did, but there was nothing she could do about it now.

She sighed looking at her hands. She didn't know she had the strength either until she tried it.

She smiled ruefully it called for desperate measures.

She recalled the years she had been married to John. Twenty long years and for what. Listening to every wrong she was doing in taking care of Mrs Smith's youngest son.

Today was just too much. The woman had sailed in uninvited from some 50 miles away just to tell her that her pie was crusty and tasted like frog turd.

She giggled.

Maybe Mrs Smith had a secret life: turd taster?

She wanted to scream and shout at the elderly woman with too much make-up. She wanted to wrap her fingers around the scrawny neck and squeeze it to a dying squawk.

Desperate Measure

Startled awake he stares
at an unfamiliar bedroom
the warmth of the body beside him
sent his memory into full bloom

this called for a special treat
his world famous french toast
a little something extra to serve her
without having to boast

slowly over to the side of the bed
slipping naked down the hallway
thinking of what he left under those sheets
gave his hips a playful sway

he found milk and eggs
some butter and some bread
searched her spices for cinnamon
while their night swirled in his head

then reaching for a bowl and measuring cup
fixing to whip her up his golden treasure
he felt two warm hands slip around his waist
searching for their own desperate measure

The Joseph I know was a nice guy,he wouldn't hurt anyone. But the Joseph I know has also seen some very trying times,he has passed through hail and storm. Somehow he rewrote his history, turned his story from lack to affluence, from grass to grace, from nothing he now occupies a prominent place.

But there was a force behind his rise, somebody wanted him up there, sometimes fortune is bait in disguise,if its in the form of a goal who cares?

He only saw the smoke but now he has seen the fire, the hands that lifted him up high is tied in a fatal desire. Joseph knows the bible Joseph had to run from Potiphar's wife, yet running from here can mean his life. For everyone he loves and cares for, depends on him to survive.

Should he turn down one so influencial and fall back to his strife or play along and be favored but live with guilt for life? The Joseph I know is changing, who else isn't in this world? Where the end justifies the means and our desires is our god.

"Not Another Broken Cabin"

Not another broken cabin
The last thing any brother should want is to not be there
Leave you on your own
In the dark…
Which is crazy 'cause it actually requires both roles
That lack of symmetry shall
Only fan the
Sparks
To burning ground

It's crazy…

Ay,

Now, behold, an avid look into a start along an ending of a part of a beginning
To a latent degree
No…
Hanging up
Ay, bae, adjustment has it's own arcuation
Hearts are marked as sharpened
Beast
Hark, they dart through the cages
Ribbing
Smart? To disregard the up away of bereavement
Hope the letters turn from scars to
A parade of completion
I say
The whole of this could grow amidst the toll that it takes
I only keep my mouth close when
I don't know what to say
'Cause lately
All we find is distance with this ball of blind contention
Try to mold a mind to listen 'stead of
All the time desisting
By the moment or the minute that was heard of what you call a blessing
To forgive of all the questions?
And maybe thens
Resting on the drugs within the thought of sudden separation
Sometimes you feeel like I don't
For reaal wife
Still the fact is cleaaar that the cabin we've had for years
Has now been added to indeed
A sapling, the babbling
Tears
So I ain't really trying to leave and do damage
But I peep some things the evil mean would speak when you vanish
Reinforce the firewood
Create a dream with the ashes
And if we have "reliance", good, a little faith can establish
The darker moments
Darker times….
Embark, and ride, and trying to thrive
Into another quiet place
Up in silence
Waiting on the mind to change because I might've said some things I didn't mean
Trading curses placing burdens on each other
And I'm tripping for the peace
Beautiful…
Girl
Believe me when I'm quoting these scriptures to grow us spiritually
Deleting all the names from before today
Hope to bring us close
A friend, because today is root in something from the underworld and stands
Built this cabin in the woods by this kingdom near the sea
Baby, tell me where you see another girl?
It's only true
And let us shoo the bears from the property
Keep on coming 'round
To stop and see that there's only you
Would not be
Obsolete
Powers that control are attacking evils on top of people, crazy
It'd be robbing to leave
You feel?
To stipple that potential not to fold of the youngest
That, I'm against, indeed
But happiness important to… grasp
With that, I love you, just my overalls, my porch and my ax
Don't know if that would
Do…
Telling me you loving me back… without the "I" attached
Another with a fortune perhaps…
Has take your "eye"
The rabbits laughing at it
Rabids, they ain't getting no more carrots out the garden though I promise you
I'm tripping, they will eat again
Mainly, just devoted to the thought of being from knowing absence
We can have the world but please don't let it be broken cabin
