Poetry Contest

write a poem that has something to do with internet or online
I got this idea for a competition after writing my last poem.  Just write any poem that has something to do with internet or online. Can be about a relationship or just commenting on online habits.  Any number of poems, old or new.

Good luck

Me first!

1f0A1k0E 1r0E1a0L1i0T1y!0!

Tisk, tisk, tisk…
Thinking I’m just out my mind
Wasting my time on perfect strangers
Leaning to care for imaginary friends
Giving yet not given in a fAkE rEaLiTy!!
People who don’t know me feel the need to hurt me
Stand so tall against me behind a screen
When did I become the sane one?
Turning the other cheek to an army of avatars
Anger, pain, sadness, greed… are real even in fake reality

1001001 0100000 1001100 1001111 1010110 1000101 0100000 1011001 1001111 1010101 0101110!!!!!!

Mortal to a God
Seeking to unite the world,
or just scream that you’re the antichrist,
but where are your credentials?
Fighting just to lose your way
Well all things are possible in bIzArRo WoRlD!!
Down is up and up is down
Cheering on insanity, shunning the artistry
Love, happiness, friendship, need… are real even in fake reality

1001001 0100000 1001100 1001111 1010110 1000101 0100000 1011001 1001111 1010101 0101110!!!!!!

How does it go again?
…Oh, that’s right!
It’s all just mental masturbation
Feeding a fantasy
Holding on to lost dreams
Disconnect with words unsaid
The price to pay for opening the trojan horse
So much vain entitlement, people willing to throw you under the buss
But I won’t deceive you, not gonna tell you all my truths ether
That’s what the sane people do in a fake reality

Click! Tick ! Tic!  Toc!
I click on the rows of letters.
Every letter has a beat, every letter has meaning.
How it breaths and how I feel the life in that row of words.
It's a black screen I stare into, but I find his stare right through it.
How they breath and live through that black little void .
But what great longing comes from that black void.. How I see those rows of words
Spell out lonilness, how lost I feel within this black addiction within this dark affliction.
Every row is a escape from reality.
As I pound on those letters Click! Tick! Tic! Toc!
For my time has come...

||I'm Falling For Numbers||

He's a picture on a screen,
Only through text can he be seen.
His smile whispers through words,
He will always be heard.

I wish to listen endlessly,
This thing we have is in the chemistry.
He has no hands to touch me with,
But the linger of fire is no myth.

While my friends cut me down,
And their words go to town,
I'll stare into those lifeless eyes,
Knowing this man on the screen is mine.

How can they understand the thrill?
Knowing this kind words might not be real.
But how I love him so,
Even if he may not even know.

The Spectacle of Living

death never got near me
death will forever fear me
never been kissed by the widow
never been tricked by the scarecrow
the spell of hell cast on the living
the dead go in a box
while the fox goes on fixing
the stairway to a spectacle
living, walking vegetables
every body is in death
nobody is alive
so no, I never experienced near death
because death is a lie

we meet in the underground
it’s the only safe place
we come from separate worlds
where perhaps a black sun freezes the earth

our lurid love-notes, her sex fantasies & my own,
are missives designed to vindicate our souls of
sordid desires. she claims a primal affection for
the poet, but it is most certainly aimed at these
poems that erupt from me like volcanic ash.

these poems…

(   you reach into your gut, extract the shrapnel,
carve it brazenly into poetry. or the clone of
poetry, the distorted reflection.
you toss it with cautious charm into the
outreaches of cyberspace, to net the reactions
of those wayfarers who happen upon it. hoping
someone will offer a healing remark. but who
can heal you?)

when she can no longer bear the threat of my love,
she retreats to the stygian shadows.  where angels hide.

she became all of my erotic poems.
& she is my love poem…

You're the One (Zero One)

projecting and receiving our ideal
scenarios
mentally moulding avatars
into everything

like children with Lego or Play-Do
making fantasy real
with imagination
building it up as big as possible
before nap time

our best selves forward and the rest
absent
have a sad face icon and know
You're the one

zero one zero one one
zero
connection lost

SILICON VALLEY

Orchard farms overshadowed with a burgeoning metropolis
Brought about by abrupt advancements in technology
And audacious venture capitalists throughout the valley
Now the hubcap heaven of a once fledgling economy
How this transformation happened, piqued my curiosity
Allow me to share with you my unsolicited synopsis

Terse and to the point would be my unsolicited synopsis
Almonds, apricots and cherries bloomed across the valley
Where thousands of acres were developed into a metropolis
Home to silicon innovators and manufacturers in technology
Beamer, Benz and Bently were trumpets of booming economy
Aura of vulnerability and envy eclipsed my curiosity

The second gold rush in California aroused a curiosity
People all over the world flocked to the once pastoral valley
Feeling of euphoria filled up to the brim of my initial synopsis
Caustic comments flew sometimes in the bustling metropolis
From scientists and engineers—czars of technology
And stalwarts of growth in  the dot-com economy

The dot-com boom and bust of the internet economy
Do you think it will arouse your curiosity
The haves and the have nots of the metropolis
Their income gaps widened like the spread of the valley
Leaving less coveted space in my on-going synopsis
And lackluster interest in the modern technology

Electric cars and other advancements in technology,
As well as solar powered gizmos brought back my curiosity
They served as beacons of hope to the declining economy
Ushered by an era of robot-led workers in the metropolis
The buck doesn’t stop there for my interesting synopsis
For the home of modern technology, we call Silicon Valley

Sex is another booming trade in this beautiful valley
Fueled by rich geeks and the internet technology
Contributing to their once again booming economy
Did I start a fire and ignite your flame of curiosity
Would you give it a shot in this euphoria-filled metropolis
After throwing you a glimpse, I’m now closing my synopsis

I once was a rat racing through the maze in the Silicon Valley
As an electrical engineer and consultant in computer technology
Getting gray, I prefer to stay away from that hustling metropolis

I-BODY REPLICA

Imagine if you could build
an exact replica of yourself
with a quadzillion RAM of memory
surpassing your intelligence
by quantum leaps and bounds.
A thousand megapixels of electronic viewfinder
hides behind its azure eyes meek as a lamb
complete with advanced CMOS sensors,
which can see through walls even in the dark.
Don't be fooled with those eyes
for they instantly turn lethal
once confronted with imminent danger.
Burst of lightning red lasers,
ten times powerful than tasers
hell's fury is on the receiving end.

At its core you will find the latest iOS—
the best and only one of its kind,
most advanced operating system by Apple.
Complete with countless built-in apps
and SIRI— your wish is its command.
Unlimited WIFI broadband
and total access to I-Cloud
everything you need is at hand.

A list of high tech specifications
could go on without question;
a manifestation of sheer brilliance and
undeniably the best human invention,
but what the fuck were you thinking?
You forgot the most important
part of creation.

{==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==-==}
.
Scattered bits
pass through myriad wires
a bill is paid
.
the cycle begins anew
streams of consciousness reaching
through the electronic void
.
Friends (and possibly more-congrats freddi and fritz)
reaching through the phosphor screen
.
Short nights spent online
(the morning comes too soon)
Give us back our piece of mind
(pieces in my case)
and ready us for the mornings gloom
.

Authors Note:
written when I was working a day shift job (which I abhorred)
written before I got fired (I almost thanked them when they did) now I work nights, nearer to home. and feel great -only drawback is I am at home during the day instead of the night-and GEnie has a prime time
