Eye To Eye

There we are
just us two
the orange sol of far
is close to you
the heavenly of star
from inside grew
your like a sweety jar
when I look , I always drool
your backed by the Azure
that can lure
my child , my fool
the brightest of the pure
for sure
my new sky blue .

As the spectrum splits the white
from all colour in daylight
I see you then but you get fuller
by the night
from  gentle frilly pink
to a mental rich red fight
all indigoe's in sync
with a rose to shade a plight

Stood on a beach
we go eye to eye
soon if I don't reach
my blood
it will be dry
so come on let me teach
my love
that does
not lie
for the last time I beseech
you before I die .

I Sun You Moon

Dance with me
glide with me
peak across the turbulence
upon the wet espanse
of pure clarity ,
I feel so deep
from the inside of me
there's a need
for I've cried , you see .

I sun , you moon
new love , to you I croon
I do not bluff , nor fool
I've had enough
of monsoons .

Can I take you
to a place
where the rough
it gets erased
my eyes for you
are glazed
my mind it too
goes blind and strays
to the smooth , the groove
of  play , yes it's you
who knows the way
Mrs moon , my love
hooray , anything I'd do
to lay ,right next to
your loving face
I sun , you  moon
so watch this space .

Magnetism

Against the odds
and a world
of rising costs
two people alive
but without each other lost
they found a cover
for life's biting frost
this was in each other
love is now embossed
as we come together
oceans will be crossed
this time it's forever
the connection of all dots .

Magnetic fields
attraction surreal
we walk and talk
the same
writing how we feel
orbicular sol
and spherical lunar
they give life to all
but can also
make you lose it
alone we fall
together we get through it
whats bad becomes small
as all good gets spoken fluent  .

Flotation elation
you rotate
my creation
if planets had hands
they'd stand an ovation
upon these sands
I await , anticipation
for rainbow bands
to wrap our conjugation .

AJALON
Oh Ajalon – hear my Song!

The sun never sets
The moon never fades
In the place the Hebrews call
“The Valley of the Stags”

Down from the Spice Mountains
Comes young King Solomon
A bounding roebuck
Into the land of Ajalon

Among the fragrant flowers
Abishag the Shunammite
She does await
Her strong antlered stag
Her love will consummate

Solomon – to her heart belongs

Children at play
Like two spotted fawns
Lovers are they
In the land of Ajalon

Dare I add, what a wonderful prompt.  As a child of the moon, I love reading all these wonderful submissions.  As my grandfather would always say, "the sun does sting, but the moon will sooth!"

Great soothing writes.

Prayer to Selene

O Lingering light
O Traveling skies
Sickle above
Crown of night
Halo of venusian formation
Mother of nocturnal creation
Soul of opal,mirror eye
Behind the bare trees
The wings of eternity unfold
The radiance of Selene
Shrine of the holy heart
Listen,behold
The sickle above
Compass of celestial love
O Traveling skies
O Lingering light

Moonlight Serenades

she clawed at the Hurt
within her heart
opening wounds with her sobs
midnight moon caressing her mind

the time is come it whispered
silver lights shining into her eyes
she saw again the scavenger
ripping into her innards

it fed inside of her
gnawing until she was hollow
she screamed for hours
spewing out her pain

the men in white came in
and gave her a sedative
she stumbled into herself
hearing her screams in the distant

the nurses folded her back
into her bed covering her
they left her gibbering within
as the moon shone in from the window

the nurses went back to coffee
and cards listening to howls
from inmates saluting the full moon
they wondered about that.

your poem is very interesting, what is it based on?"

This one of many poems I wrote years ago.  Most deal with the universal, beliefs of deer, as spiritual animals. To be honest, I'm obsessed by deer, and I've collected stories about them since I was in college`.  This poem incorporated several dynamics of that folklore of old."

1. Song of Solomon; where two lovers, Abishag and Solomon compare each other to deer.  (Note; no matter what part of the world, deer are the most common animal metaphor that you can find for romance/eroticism).  Note; their affair was probably illicit, as Abishag was a concubine of Solomon's aging father David.  She is found in one other Old Testament reference. "In order to jump start a fading elderly David on his death bed, Abishag, a beautiful young girl, cuddled naked to him."  Sadly, it didn't work and David died.  Consequently since, sexual healing is not covered under healthcare.  Damn!

2.  The moon, of course.  Another universal ancient belief, that the deer have a spiritual connection to the moon. Examples can be found in the many stories of Ovid's Metamorphous. The ancients associated the deer's rut, and their antler shed to the position and the length of the night, to the moon.  And guess what?  The were partially right.  Deer's behavior has been scientifically been attributed to the solstice and equinox.

3.  Ajalon, the valley of the stags.  The most common reference to this mystical place is in the Old Testament. Believe me, one has to do some digging to find reverences to Ajalon.  And I might add, like much of folklore, they are not necessarily found on the internet.  In Ajalon here we find that moon/deer relationship.  In the sky of Ajalon, the sun and the moon share the sky.  "Though never proven, some folks believe Ajalon was the inspiration of Avalon."

Once again, thanks Morgan, for posting such an thought provoking and enjoyable prompt.

Thank you kindly for the insightful reply. Yes,deers are mythical, appearing in many tales.
The stag, yes it is related to Beltane, the feast of fire and celebration of fertility.
Always a pleasure to read the poets thoughts, makes your poem even more special,Snugglebuck

Moon Forever

Tribal drums
are thumping
as wind farms
are turning
slowly clockwise
in thick air
descent
red and golden
of a days glare
my mind of olden
rememberance of when
it is not over
in underworlds
we share
I can't take cover
this much I have to bare
forever my lover
we never
should be dared .

All across the hills
I stretched my pain
to you
each grasp it killed
until
I touched life new
my tank refilled
and all blank lines
never drew
my widowsills
alive
from plants your moonlight
grew .

Hydroponic
you grow
then glow across it
rasped in phonic
first class
you stamp bionic
implications
no way
but you tune wavelengths
incantations
vibration to dimensions
affirmation
you're laughing gas
from angels
forever stationed
wherever lights your halo
and maybe someday
sun, moon
will rule

for always .
