Crooked Love

We're a crooked love, in a straight line down.
Fell in love like we fell together.
Just like the old saying: "Opposites attract".
You're so bad, from the wrong side of the tracks.
They say that you'll leave me.
They say that you'll never come back.
But I've fallen and I can't get out.

This love is a square, life is a circle.
We don't fit but yet we try.
They tell me not to trust you.
But yet, your eyes are so easily trusted.
Mismatched blue and green, water and earth.

And you're looking right at me.

Your reputation is an act.
I see right past it, your soul behind a glass.
They try to break us apart but I can't help but hold on.
They tell me you'll leave me.

But still your eyes are so trusting.
Borrowing and lending from each other's colors in the setting sun.
And your heart is guarded, locked tight from the inside.
But I want to be inside your heart and your mind.

Go away, leave me-- Those are the words you say.
A good girl like me, Catholic school pride.
They call me naive.
They call me stupid.
They say you'll hurt me.

But I can't help but fall for you anyway.
The way you look at me.
They way you say my name.

You've got a way with words.

And when I'm caught up, in a love that's burning so bright.
Faster than the fastest rollarcoaster ride.
Wrapped in your arms every night.
Sitting in the dark watching those eyes burning so bright.
Staring at me, a smile that makes the Cheshire Cat's look cheap.

I'm falling down a rabbit hole.
Opposites are the same.
Squares fit in circles.

We're a crooked love in a straight line down.

Your anger gets the better at you.
We're throwing poison arrows made of sharpened words.
The arguements are the worst thing that came out of our mouthes.
Slamming doors, crying all night but you always come back.
A dozen roses more each time.

And everyone tries finding a reason to break us apart.
But I block out their voices and hold on tighter to your heart.

You say that I deserve better.
I say I deserve you.

But when the ride's over.
And I awake from my dreams.

And you're no longer there to comfort me.
And every light passing my window each night is you.
Coming to sneak me out, away from these cities and small town crowds.

But it's never you, not anymore.
Every phone call never returned.
A ring returned to it's velvet eligned box.
And I have to learn to live with you in my life.
But you're always in my heart. . .
You're always on my mind. . .

I wish I never hung-up the phone.
I wish you knew I was sorry for pushing you away.
I wish you knew what I actually wanted to say.
I wish you knew that I think about you ever day.

And I'll never forget you, not matter what they say.
Forget you and move on.
They were right about you all along.

The bad boy with the bad reputation, gone in a blink of an eye.

They tell me to forget you but I know I can't.
Our love was too strong to be shoved aside.
You think about me, you say my name aloud.
You reach for me in an empty bed.
And you still have my ring around your neck.

You pass my street every night.
You see me in your dreams.
You can't forget about me.

I see your car from my window.
Keep driving down my street.
I should've never let you leave.
But you left and I can't go back in time.
And I watch from a distant as someone else takes claim to what once was mine.

But I never forget you, never try and never will.
A month and a flame.
A magpie and a ring.
A square fitting inside of a circle.
A tear on my pillow.
Waking from a sweet dream.

We're a crooked love, in a straight line down.

We run.
And we hide.

We try to get away.
But who are we fooling?

We cannot ever deny, the feelings we felt.
And the love we once had.

*Inspired by the lyric ". . .We're a crooked love, in a straight line down. . ." from the song "I Wish You Would" by Taylor Swift.

to the point of no view

They were  in distasteful dirtyreds
pained and overworked
out of  endless staring
over water-seeped walls of aspergillus mustiness
over broken touchscreens of the only phablet held
over black inks that spilled wordcounts of their plights
Solitude rescued them from crowded lies outside
Silences were the only converses in deep resonance
Spectacles they looked through cracked obsolete to worldly visions
Shrunken overly, they had parched out of deceitful rendevouses
Tears from their core never hung out filmy,  were sucked back
Gotten evenly numbed to lighted colours and dimness greys
Blinkered just as vestigial studs over the peeling off senses
Soulless eyes couldnt carry anymore of the breathed in dreams
that were seeded with your well pla(nn/y)ed poisonous ways
Memories of foulsmelling chapters were torn, forgotten
and buried in the concentric rings of sorrowful irises

The eyes of pain dared not the dreams
The eyes of pain dared not the dreams

They were the burnt out buds shooting out
sootiness of acrid pasts... and no future
They needed not the camouflaged looking warmth
anymore, when fruition and fusion were dire myths

Poem inspired from song lyric composed by A.R.Rahman: (translated from Tamil):

 Dare not the dreams"
