Patient Number NW842

She'd shiver if she heard it
my synopsis of her character
probably protest my findings
swearing she's deeper

with ever impetuous promises
the hypocritical dramas she's known for
though she condemns all spontaneity
as irrational
unwilling to claim the obvious parallels

hail the faithful and true advocate
of her own worth
though ego is just a self serving vanity
in anyone else

the most petulant woman born
she'd rank patience at close to the top
of all the virtues worth possessing
then argue pedantically for her own maturity

another neophyte who despises amateurs
an instant authority on all topics of interest
true knowledge an abstract concept
that could belong to no other

seemingly harmless as a callow pubescent
hiding the evidence of all her ineptitude
under the guise of modesty
though the vulgarity seeps through

her looks of derision as caustic as any acid
capable of as much destruction on contact
with any entity not immune to death
or the sudden onset of mysterious grief

there are none so courageous as to lack hope
nor any so cowardly that they'd run from it
her name is ever changing and we're better off
forgetting

end of clinical report

Good luck on the GRE
hope you get the grad school of your choosing....
Sucking on peppermint or using it as an aromatherapy while studying has been proven to help with info. retention and increase comprehension. It worked for me and I was a skeptic studying for my GRE when someone suggested it have some during the actual exams to help even more with clarity. Worked for my son in school too!

SILICON VALLEY
         (Sestina)

http://www.oxygenaccelerator.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/siliconvalley.jpg

Orchard farms overshadowed with a burgeoning metropolis
Brought about by abrupt advancements in technology
And audacious venture capitalists throughout the valley
Now the hubcap heaven of a once fledgling economy
How this transformation happened, piqued my curiousity
Allow me to share with you my unsolicited synopsis

Terse and to the point would be my unsolicited synopsis
Almonds, apricots and cherries bloomed across the valley
Where thousands of acres were developed into a metropolis
Home to silicon innovators and manufacturers in technology
Beamer, Benz and Bently were trumpets of booming economy
Aura of vulnerability and envy eclipsed my curiousity

The second gold rush in California aroused a curiousity
People all over the world flocked to the once pastoral valley
Feeling of euphoria filled up to the brim of my initial synopsis
Caustic comments flew sometimes in the bustling metropolis
From scientists and engineers—czars of technology
And stalwarts of growth in  the dot-com economy

The dot-com boom and bust of the internet economy
Do you think it will arouse your curiousity
The haves and the have nots of the metropolis
Their income gaps widened like the spread of the valley
Leaving less coveted space in my on-going synopsis
And lackluster interest in the modern technology

Electric cars and other advancements in technology,
As well as solar powered gizmos brought back my curiousity
They served as beacons of hope to the declining economy
Ushered by an era of robot-led workers in the metropolis
The buck doesn’t stop there for my interesting synopsis
For the home of modern technology, we call Silicon Valley

Sex is another booming trade in this beautiful valley
Fueled by rich geeks and the internet technology
Contributing to their once again booming economy
Did I start a fire and ignite your flame of curiousity
Would you give it a shot in this euphoria-filled metropolis
After throwing you a glimpse, I’m now closing my synopsis

I once was a rat racing through the maze in the Silicon Valley
As an electrical engineer and consultant in computer technology
Getting gray, I prefer to stay away from that hustling metropolis

title- Maybe That's Why

by- mattpiskorowski

My synopsis was different then I suspected.
Head over heels in love? That was undetected.
My psychiatrist's words were rather abrupt.
My need for addiction digs deep like a cut.
The fact his advocate was a junkie as well.
I'm not quite sure my brain can tell.
What's the reason I made my loved ones perish?
What's the reason I ended my new marriage?
My wife was the tyro of addiction, so she left.
Now I comprehend why I moved on so swift.
I find out now my incipient fiend was just too much.
Too much for my beautiful bride to love.
Turns out I have a mordacious tongue to top it all!
Now I see why my life began to fall!
Maybe my audacious behavior is why I did it...
Maybe it's why I left my wife for this shit...
Honestly though that's probably not...
An asshole for life doesn't stop...

"Judgement Day For Wagelessness"

This compendium of doubtful proliferation.  Came to pass
with such convective distinction.  In hallowing years of those bureaucratic presentations.

Abrupt judgement had befell..  The feeble
tarnished and war-lorn courts!!
For this smoking gun of symbolic atrophy.
Would be etched into the public's mind
and finale of justifiable reports!

The Advocate of truthful tableau's granted the passage so rightful.  For
his authority was so justifiable and true!  Wavering verdict at this court of
such weakened and corrupt disgrace!
It no longer had the fuel for any propaganda for its utter disgrace.

This place the crowds outside the court in an incurious waspish!  For this was unheard of in this day and time.  To question such higher authority's.  Tyro's be wary and needn't apply!

It had to start somewhere and begin with
a burgeoning through-fair!  The asperity
so courageous and legendary.  Legal eagles throughout the land and underdogs near and far.  Etched this victory against tyranny!  A Judgement Day For Wagelessness!!

Relentless Reminiscence [Resurrected]

Recollections rust with time;
A brief synopsis of the hours
That burned their mark on my proselyte morality
Might be due.

Fade out/fade into black and white screen.

An abrupt glance shared between volumes
Speaking profusely of ages lived bilious
By a master of the acrimonious
Yet there we were,
In the midst of charm cut short by
Terse explanations of conjugal arrangements.

So be it.

But it had to be reiterated
Within settings bearing alarming similarities;
Arms open to the burgeoning of affinities
Finding sustenance in shared language
Powdered with delicious frivolities.
It could have ended on a cliffhanger.

Were it not common courtesy to save the best for last.

And so we did.
A stalwart nature paired with
Impetuous infatuation
Was all it really took.
Train wrecks always leave the best of us in awe.
Could dubbing your actions “audacious
Be mistaken for admiration?

Then again, what couldn’t.

And that should’ve been the
Prior to last chapter,
Preceding querulous bickering
Heartily laced with the excuse of
Callow judgment:
A caustic novitiate of feminism
Gone horribly wrong.

But who likes a happy ending.

What started with words should have ended with them;
The longer the better.
Let us drown the hurt
In acerbic considerations:
Acidulous bolsters to the highest dudgeon.
Please, feed me with vocabulary,
Smother me with linguistic inadequacy,
You who claim to be the “CHILD of SILENCE”…

Why did you let that be me…

Don't Jump Off Da Bridge, Stay And Live

Abridge wuz bilt in Frisco.
Peeple jump headlong frum it
into da deep blew sea.
I don't advocate jumpin' frum it.
'Cause yew will perish.
Youse ain't know neophyte.
Youse engender da human species.
Don't bee caustic.
Bee courageous.

Through Clouded Glass
Oh, please don’t abridge the experience!
Were it feasible, all shortcuts would cheapen my validity,
devalue both enormously consequential and apparently mundane decision.
Rather precipitate the epiphany of significance; may I understand cosmic import, microscopic gravity.

Ah, how understanding is fractional,
inchoate at present!
Yes, the process is immature, and the nominally existent will be thereby abashed;
the dilettante is destined for failure.

Hm… I recall… it was once my nature: petulance.
How absurd!
Foolish.
Intellectually rash, inconsistent in reasoning.
But how wise we often think we are in our passions… making grand shows of acrimonious dedication.
But can passion justify?

Be my mind espoused with lyrical veracity.
The pursuit must be dauntless, else it be fruitless.

Hey, I really like this idea; it's actually one of my favorite exercises. I've found that beginning can be the most difficult part, but this method helps me think and inspires me by merging what I want to express with my appreciation for words in general.

Also, I appreciate your username.
